People are seriously overestimating how easily Ebola spreads. The reason its been such a problem in Africa is because it is tradition for the family to tend to a dead family member and the general distrust of western medicine in Africa.

Se7enDespite the Dallas native indeed being infected and many people fucking up completely with his entire situation and not catching the signs of the virus as early as they could,

symptoms take about 5 days or more to show. atleast 80 people quarantined in Dallas at the moment.

edit: also heard the disease has spread to pigs possibly, and it is airborne through them. this thing can spread really fast, but death rate decreased from 90% to 50%, which 50% is still a lot, so you have the flip of the coin to live or die basically.

idk much about drugs or disesase but there's a reason variola stopped being a thing way faster here thn arfirca and mid east and indonnssa and short of a large scale amount of animal product being contmnnd ur probably not going 2 die

and a 90% death rate is way better than 50% if ur not infected because one of the big reasons an ebola out break had such a hard time was because it killed people before they spread shit

altho spanish flu had a 10~20% mort rateso ur probly bufkcd mite as well selfkill

i remember watching a hchanel thing where they mentioned how in the 19th century people were afraid of being buried alive because the definitions of what constitutes dead + proving death was fairly difficult. if a patient has a weak/imperceptible pulse after showing ebola symptoms its not like the high stress ebola doctrs r gonna bother hkking them up to a heart monitor that they'll hav 2 clean and shit when u could just trash them and move on 2 one of the other 40 ppl in line who r dying

kinda sucks that a large amount of the people who died/will die just got fucked by swamped med staff :(

I think I remember George Washington, or another one of the founding fathers put in his will to not be buried until two days after he "died"

The way they typically dealt with figuring out if you were dead in the 17th and 18th centuries, if it was possible, was to place a mirror or sheet of glass over the subjects face, if it were available. The other method (which wasn't preferred) was you could insert a needle into the chest of the subject and if you got the needle close enough to the heart, without actually hitting it, you could detect a heartbeat via the needle wobbling.

Well it is Breitbart, your confusion isn't entirely unfounded.

Honestly guys why don't we let Africa do its own thing. I mean if they wanna kiss the dead of no longer living ebola patients I'm fine with that but don't ask questions when the whole continent has it and don't come to the US or Europe.

assuming africa is having a full blown epidemic to the point where large percentages of the population are at risk or infected, everyone is gonna flee the country into the surrounding areas likely on foot or through other difficult to track means. At least if we control the flow of people through the countries we know who's at risk and where the infected patients are winding up. Also rofl if ur really suggesting to let people die ur kind of a dick

Yeah let's just leave people to die, great idea man.

If you haven't noticed, Africa has been pretty beat up over the centuries, which has led to lack of education, government, and health regulation in many areas. So just leaving them to traditions will pretty much mean mass death everywhere.
