The intercontinental feature TF2 tournament will take place at Insomnia55 in the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, England on August 28-30. Read on for all the details you need to spectate this edition of the annual TF2 major.
Insomnia55 is almost upon us, and with it the annual intercontinental tournament showcasing the world's best teams. With YoYoTech, backpack.tf, and Bobsplosion providing a record prize pool, and teamfortress.tv with generous support by geel of SweetStakes.tf leading the highest-quality (and best-funded) production to date, this weekend will be one for the ages.
Format
Teams will qualify from one of two types of groups into a double-elimination bracket to determine the ultimate champion.
Invite Group
Top teams will begin the tournament in a special invite group. This group will be single-game round-robin, with all teams gaining a playoff seed within the top six based on their performance.

Teams not playing in the invite group will be placed into a regular open group. The top ten teams will advance to the playoffs. More details will be determined after tournament registration has concluded.
Playoffs
The sixteen teams advancing will meet in a double-elimination bracket to determine the Insomnia55 champion. The schedule is as follows:
Friday (BST)
- 22:00: upper round of 16 (cpsunshinerc8)

- 23:00: upper round of 12 (cp_badlands)
Saturday (BST)

- 11:00: lower final (best-of-three)
- 14:00: grand final (best-of-five)

The £10,000 (~$15,000) prize purse -- £5,000 from YoYoTech, £2,500 from backpack.tf, and £2,500 from Bobsplosion -- will be disbursed to the top four finishers as follows:
