sagedunno if i mentioned it before but it would be great if divs were color-coded in players, a small part of the code just fetching divs from players ETF2L/ESEA page or something. Would make people more eager to captain probably, and people with lesser knowledge would have decisions made way easier for them without having to study the profiles/logs of dozens of players :P
Red: Invite/Premiership
Orange: ESEA-IM / ETF2L-High
Yellow: UGC Plat / ESEA-Open / ETF2L-Mid
Green: ETF2L-Open / other things
i think this color scheme would be quite intuitive... i know the TF2Stars plugin could easily fetch ETF2L like that, would be great to have that in pugchamp :)
ETF2L is a bit iffy regarding that since it requires a bit of manual work.
In the backend seasons are the same as cups, and they're not shown an archive status, so for every season you need to find the competition ID and cross reference the player -> team -> competition.

on the other hand i'd probably prefer my captains to actually know the players they pick rather than just trying for the highest mix of divs, which definitely isn't the way to pick a good team (offclassing, sandbagging etc). i dont think there's a shortage of captains on the site so i dont think that's necessarily a thing that's important to have on the main page
tf2pickup had a div thing on profile page which was cool to have but it's probably low priority since logs.tf has useful links on it already

theres a lot of buddies of teams that rosteride for the medal so i think the best approach would be checking actual matches played in the past season or so, not just checking what team you're on and its div

well it would be more of a helping hand if you dont know the players, you are still better off checking some logs or ETF2L profiles but you could do it more selectively
having the color-coded thing you could check the highest div players one by one if you dont know them instead of clicking in everyone/choosing the players with the most pugs

people should play for a while, get to know the players first then captain, actually playing with before and knowing the players would probably be better than just some color telling them who they should pick. I don't think someone who hasnt played with and doesn't know other players should even captain in the first place.

That's a nice ideal but then you sometimes you get situations where there are 20 people added up and no one who wants to captain. If that's the situation then there's nothing wrong with having a bit of extra info on who you're picking. Otherwise, the people who do know what's going on will pick who they know anyway.

Eemes, celvn & I are gonna be playing drinking games tonight while pugging. Feel free to get some booze and join us. We're still trying to come up with clear rules, so you can send us suggestions (if anybody still has the Sideshow drinking game from the 2 Men Lan vid that would be a godsend).
As much as drinking games can be fun if you join in drink at your own pace and don't overdo it: its meant to be fun, the goal is NOT to throw up on your keyboard. We'll probably start around 10 and keep going until it dies or we have enough. Catch you guys tonight!
EDIT: The high council has decided on the rules: https://imgur.com/a/If4v7

Hey everyone,
After many months of planning, we have come to the point where we need to make a decision on the future of PugChamp. While we would like to freely proceed with developing new versions of PugChamp and related services that address current issues as well as introduce new exciting features, there are several restrictions that we must consider and steps we must take beforehand.
To help us make this decision, it would be appreciated if you could fill out this form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSevRGRgzSJ6Z8sBoPjtlRgrJxw4K2vslaE6KkyGUDy2JLGo_w/viewform
The data we collect will give us a better idea of whether a future version of PugChamp can be sustainably maintained, as well as what directions we need to focus on when developing a new version.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will attempt to answer to the best of my ability.
