I've had hacker added for a long time, and despite my position on cheating in TF2 and his vac ban I still have him added. You know what he's done since his Vac ban? The dude has been giving me advice on how to improve my plugin. It's not much but it's something. Maybe if more of you guys were like that we could actually come up with something that, although it would eliminate cheating, it would greatly deter cheating in comp.

to be fair there's not much that people can do other than getting the cheat loader and sending it to valve if it's internal, they detect most cheats via the loader.

there's only so much you can do with a serverside anticheat, although i'd recommend looking at faceit. their aimbot detection catches inhuman viewangle changes (moving your mouse in a straight line towards a player), destroys one method of triggerbotting through index changing (this wouldn't make a difference in TF2, most triggerbots are raytrace + pasted from darkstorm) and other anti-cheat features.

isn't autohotkey just used for those recoil reduction binds / scripts where you click m1 and ahk just pulls ur cursor down for you and it's not vac det because there's no injection

iirc it gets inspected by an admin or automated comparision and gets detected after a period of time which is usually 2 weeks just like any new cheat* on client

edit: new copy-pasted cheat with zero protection through the cheat itself or a cheat driver (aka how aimware was ESEA undetected for longer than VAC)

steam bans accounts that share a phone number, that's what happened to a few people. you can get vac banned without cheating on an account if it links to other accounts that used a cheat for whatever purpose. so many close-minded, unintelligent retards in this community. read the steam faqs one day. it's common knowledge.

for a long time when i first approached miggy to give advice on his plugin i said i'd never cheated in ugc and never would, my smac aimbot ban came from using lithiumcheats.xyz on a skial server in november (5 days after i rostered on my first ugc team).

but why did you have the cheat client open if you have no intention of cheating? during the detection window that was so recent? you don't get system scanned, you get banned for having the cheat INJECTED into hl2.exe while being on a vac secured server.

mauiis alt, which was originally used to play incognito with friends already had the number tied to it, like her main. she tested in a private server to ban cheaters in her community. the vac ban carried over because of the phone number being linked.
