Put yourself in the game

I had this idea when I was watching cbear's solocasts on his youtube. People were saying that the transition to webcam was too jarring.

Well using hud modifications you can "green screen" yourself into the game's UI. I did a really rough demo here just to get the idea across. Basically I'd set the scoreboard background to magenta which when went transparent to my webcam layer beneath when I pressed tab.

It would be better to create an entirely separate panel in the scoreboard rather than putting yourself in an existing one with player names and scores, obviously.

Sadly this only works with window capture because game capture does not support chroma keying. But it might be fun to play around with.

Also I don't have any Oculus Rift news :[

I don't think I understand the keyboard view. It would make more sense to me if the keyboard was in full view as opposed to getting it at an angled distance. Seems like you could replace that part in the sidebar with the webcam stream, or stack the webcam stream on top of or under the weird keyboardy one.

This looks pretty great.

Side note: there's no post #4 and it's bothering me
