Well, I decided to make a new thread for this HUD considering it has been completely rebuilt from scratch and shares little to no resemblance to the old and outdated (and frankly terrible) HUDs.

It is fully functional, although MVM still needs a good bit of work. If you have any questions or issues feel free to post here. PLEASE READ THE README.

Anyway, I'd like to thank Fog for the crosshairs, omni for being an all around cool guy and helping with the engineer's build panel, Goat_ for being my favorite German, and Benroads for providing some feedback.

Git: https://github.com/ZimmyWho/ZimHUD

Enjoy video gamers. If you have any issues or questions feel free to post here (which I'm sure there are as this is an initial release and I am forgetful).

This looks really clean, I'm guessing it's building on the same style as the former ya_ now 5MD HUD. I like it!

A few things I saw: the scoreboard, as shown in image 10, looks like it has no heading for Blu...the top just looks empty. I understand what you were going for by having the scores next to each other, but maybe you could have a faded edge with the color around it or something, or maybe a thin color specific bar/line at the top/bottom of each team?
Also: loadout menu: the icons are missing, but I presume you're going to put those in?

I like it a lot, I hope you stick with it :)

nooooo the beautiful cp icons don't work on pure 2 servers. too big of a dream ;-;
everything else is sexy though. might i suggest gmod's sourcescheme? its square bordered and a similar color scheme, think it would fit nicely.

edit: prob should have included pics with that- normal gmod sourcescheme

I think you should skip the weird remake of couture (or else lagerfeld will haunt you) and just use novecento or your other sans for the main menu.

Oh and for the server time limit: the font is numbers only so that it removes the "NO TIME LIMIT" and so that it works with all languages. You can remove the remaining ":" with textinsetx.

Great job, this is my go-to HUD now. Reminds me a lot of the original ya_huds.

Good job man! Sorry I won't be able to put it onto huds.tf until we update it though.

Just so everyone knows, the control points Zimmy has implemented are custom vtfs, but unfortunately won't work in sv_pure 2 servers. Keep that in mind.

Am I the only person hoping that this was an Invader Zim based hud?

But seriously, nice work. It looks really great.

Got up to write this because I remembered this comment:

hanbroloCustom vtfs are weird, one thing I would do first off is to put the test vtf and vmt in custom/*name*/materials/vgui/replay/thumbnails and reference that file path relative to materials ie /vgui/replay/thumbnails. That folder is never checked with sv_pure or anything so that eliminates the possibility of file path errors (credit to broesel for discovering this and SirVilleta + povohat (I think?) for introducing it to the masses). then make sure the .vmt is referencing the right file. that should be the only thing you could be messing up on, not sure.

http://teamfortress.tv/thread/8247/show-your-hud-modifications/?page=52#1559

Is there really no chance to get the vtfs to somehow load from this folder?

Excellent work with your hud. The custom CP icons look amazing as well.

Misc bugs, in addition to what's been posted:

  • Reserve ammo doesn't light up or change color on low hp
  • Spectator HUD has blue BG for overheal, but no color change for low HP
  • Ubercharge doesn't flash when full

Just pushed an update. Download here.

-Fixed the MGE display.
-Fixed the Sizzling Stats and Logs.tf panels.
-Fixed the Promotional Codes button.
-Fixed Low ammo animations.
-Fixed Spectator Tournament panel animations.
-Fixed Medic Ubercharge animations.
-Improved closed caption text.
-Slightly altered some menus.

Also, thanks to tophu I changed the SourceScheme file to the one he mentioned, granted I made a few altercations to it. Thanks again tophu! As always, if you find any more issues please let me know about them.

As for Mac issues, unfortunately I do not have one to test anything out on. Sorry.
