eXtineLet's get this thread back on track (and show some respect to St.Patrick)

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/6805/6pct.png

St.Patrick points out that LPKane hasn't said anything of substance. LPKane responds with a 10 year ban for "Malicious Activity" and the words: "you lead the charge, friend".

St.Patrick has been in ESEA since Season 2 of TF2 and is without a doubt a storied veteran of the TF2 community. Shame on LPKane.

Yep, this is my argument exactly. If you can ban someone for basically "life" online because they made ONE post disagreeing with your policies and it's considered OKAY, we're basically in the age of internet censorship. Pat's been involved (therefore paid a LOT of fucking money) with ESEA for a long time. It's just unacceptable to me.

Referenced post #223 by Magus^
I don't understand though, someone who's played ESEA for 10+ seasons including in invite gets banned because he criticizes an admin, but the "anti-cheat" client lets players with VAC bans on account continue playing?

I'm just extremely confused.
#223 this is not new

I'm confused as to which part isn't new: The anti-cheat client not working, or the admin abuse.

FogI just resigned from my position at ESEANews

I cannot justify receiving a paycheck from this company when they're screwing over their own paying customers

Good on you.

#1 Open, IM, Main in TF2 General Discussion

I hope at this point saying "We're done with ESEA" is just agreed upon.

Since we all know the Invite players want to go to LAN and that's not going to change, can we as a community step up for once? Can the non-invite leagues band together and get a system in place to finish the season off-client? We can have our own playoffs, the community can help with scheduling, and we can finish the season we've already started without having to pay premium/fees anymore.

There's probably better solutions, but getting a system in place, even if it's leapfrogging off a system we already have, is better than giving this sad excuse of a company any more money. I'm done paying for malware.

#272 sp00ky mge alts unmasked in TF2 General Discussion
2sy_morphiendSoapMagusBut why mess around and cheat when you're in invite? You know the risks, you know you might get caught. You're playing with fire. The logic to do this is just astounding, but I guess shitlords will do anything to inflate their egos.
I doubt phrakture installed hacks in an attempt to "inflate his ego". It was probably just an attempt to have some cheap laughs while stomping lobbies.

Yeah but this only high-lights the irony of why the fuck would he A. Wait until he knew he was playing in invite to do that and B. Play 20 days worth of MGE to presumably get good at the game if he was just going to hack when he wanted to stomp lobbies. It only gets funnier when you consider the conditions in which he did hack (those being in a game with recorded stats, with at least a tangential overlap with the tf.tv community, on an alt that was capable of being traced to him with public information)

Exactly my point. If you're in invite you should be able to stomp lobbies anyway. I don't understand how using cheats gets you a "quick laugh". It's spitting in the face of the community because you know you might get caught but you do it anyway. That's why it's ego inflating. Back in the day we were always told that Invite players were supposed to be representative to the community. No flaming, no hatespeak, etc etc. I guess that's changed.

That being said, I'm pretty sure no one thought fagature was good before this shitstorm anyways, so I guess back to normal then.

blinKI think in a situation like this where you were caught red handed.. You should just own up to it. I don't think Phrakture actually cheats in esea matches he obviously had his fun in a few lobbies. Just man up, accept whatever discipline and move on from it because it apparently isn't going to just go away.

#5 ESEA Client problem in TF2 General Discussion
DaggerTell him to look in the bottom right corner of his computer for the ESEA Client icon. Sometimes when I open the client it doesn't load but the icon is there. Right click on the icon and open.
Also try running it as administrator.
May/may not be the fix to your problem but just some suggestions.

The process itself isn't even running, so it's not in the lower tab. Also, he's running as admin.

#1 ESEA Client problem in TF2 General Discussion

Teammate is having an issue with ESEA client. It installs, but when he runs it, the process runs for 3 seconds and then immediately shuts off. It doesn't update, it doesn't ask language or setup shit or anything. No GUI pops up.

He's uninstalled and re-installed 5x. Followed the shwan video's steps. Updated .net framework.

Anyone else have ideas?

#18 if you had fun you won, L4 a demo in Recruitment (looking for team)

A really fun team to play with. In a lot of ways, I hope they don't find a demo because then they'd be forced to stick with me and my limited time.

Anyways, if these guys do decide to part ways with me, I wish them the very best. Very few nights without a ton of laughs, good practice, and great memories.

Also, Zephyr was probably the best scout in open this season and he played with sometimes unplayable ping. One of the best scouts I've played w/ in any season.
