#26 Big Difference between 60hz and 144hz? in Hardware
w#20 will sens look/feel the same if fps is played on its equivalent refresh rate?

ie.
120 fps on 120hz
144 fps on 144hz

im asking bc i feel like its easier snapping onto target with fps_max 132 than fps_max 289 on a 60hz even though im using the same inches/360. can someone explain this phenomenon

will buying a 144hz for fps_max 289 give me that same target snapping but better

The video boneyard posted explains it perfectly. Every time you get a series of wildly-varying-in-freshness frames it will feel like a stutter, however small it may be. Your brain will try to compensate your motion to match your monitor every time and this will make your sensitivity feel lower, because you're reinitiating the movement over and over again to some extent.

@Enigma
Have you had an opportunity to try one of the upcoming native 240Hz panels?

#20 Big Difference between 60hz and 144hz? in Hardware
wwonderlandwi have another question (dont wanna make another thread). i recently changed from fps_max 132 to fps_max 289 and i felt a difference in sensitivity between 132 and 289. is there a physical difference in terms of actual inches/360 when going from degree a to degree b or does it only make it feel "smooth" when tracking between prevoiusly said degrees

raw input is on and i use a 60hz

it will just be more responsive. which may make it feel like a slightly higher sensitivity.
there will not be any physical difference in inches per 360 (unless the game has some really shitty code which is not the case for tf2 unless you use mouse accel)

also hz*2+1 is bullshit.
if you understand how the game interacts with your video card/monitor 289 is just another fps setting, no better than say 300.

so i guess it feels faster bc my mouse is gliding in-between more of those frames?

i just went out and bought a measuring tape and actual inches/360 is the same SeemsGood

Think of it like this:
If you get a new frame every millisecond and your monitor refreshes once every 5 milliseconds, you will only be off by 1/5th of the refresh period at most to what's actually the current game situation. If you get a new frame every 5 milliseconds, you might sometimes get a frame which is 4.9 milliseconds old, or 3, or 2, or 1, because the rendering of a frame by your GPU doesn't always happen at the same time as when your monitor refreshes the frame and not every frame takes an equal time to render. The more FPS, the smaller this variation can be and therefore the less stuttery the motion on your screen will be. This makes your sensitivity feel higher because you're seeing the movement of your mouse earlier on average.

Lower this to 1500 and see if that helps.

EnterimdamneasyOnly in NA...your country has a fucking blackface christmas tradition, don't try to lecture about how anti-blackness is a strictly US phenomenon

Yeah, you clearly know what you're on about. Just like those people in the Netherlands who feel like it's okay to "protest" at a festive parade meant for children ages ~3-10, causing as much police to have to be present at those parades as at a high-risk football game between two clubs who hate each other's guts. The end justifies the means right? That is some real social progress we're making right there.

As DamnEasy said, it's only the adults who see this and scream racism; children don't see it like that. So actually you're the one who's racist because the only thing you noticed is that someone's skin was coloured black and didn't investigate past that fact. Things like what you said keep reminding new generations of children that black and white people are inherently different by constantly drawing attention to it even when it's not needed, however positively it was intended on your part. You already don't want to be a racist, you've done your job. Don't go overboard; that is how extremism is born and it's been humanity's biggest problem since we became sedentary and with that took our place at the top of the food chain.

I predict that/those controller(s) is/are going to give you hand- and wrist-AIDS within the hour, especially with the heavy console attached. That being said, it looks a lot more interesting than any other console of the past few years if the battery and hardware are decent.

Starkiedrackk threw up in amsterdam after eating loads of stroopwafels

Real talk; I can't even smell a stroopwafel without feeling sick anymore. I had too many once as a child and it's one of those sweet things like fudge or other foods with caramel which just make you feel sick-by-recollection if you overate on them once. Like if you had rotten seafood you can't stand the smell of that particular seafood for a few years.

If you consider that there’s 155 weapons in the game (not including reskins of existing weapons), it’s crazy to think that about 40% of TF2’s weapons were removed from competitive play.

Fixed that for you.

zeFrostyWhat I do is lay my dick on my mouse mat and go from base to tip to get my inches/360.

I really don't understand how people can aim accurately with < 2"/360.

#8 TFTV cast mumble comms in TF2 General Discussion

Wasn't it a big hassle because it didn't work half the time with the STV delay/when the game was paused that broke it because of the delay? I must say I'm sad there won't be a KANKERZOOI Mk. 2, but I can understand that it just wasn't worth the various technical/organisatory/public image trouble.

#7 Audio extentsion cable always breaking. in Hardware

It sounds more like a socket issue than a cable issue. The metal rings you see on the male end(from the tip to the cable) correspond to left channel, right channel and ground. As you can see here, the lead that connects to the left channel functions both as an electrical connection and as (part of) the mechanism to keep the jack in the socket by way of a spring retainer. If it starts to wear out, it will lose some of its spring and won't fully bounce back and make a good connection. You can imagine that if you wiggle the jack around, it will sometimes make a connection with the spring arm, but it will be very shifty. Then there is also the problem of cheaply made things having sockets that are slightly too deep or shallow or having a pathetically weak spring arm, which can mean it barely works even when completely new.

TLDR;
Buy reputable brands and perhaps read a review, even if it's for something as simple as a cable. Even then you can just get unlucky.
