I'm not familiar with the esea client, but couldn't you manually kill the process and just reboot when you need to play a match?
I have used powerline adapters in the ass end of nowhere to get internet in a different building (only a few yards apart, but still) on a setup probably over 50 and still it worked like a charm. 10/10 would recommend. In my experience the one thing they really do hate is sharing a plug with a bunch of different appliances.

apparently you can download vods off twitch unsing third party sites and those arent muted so you can enjoy the casts before they're uploaded

Not a fix but consider power line adapaters if you can't fix it. They're amazing. Also, does it happen with all wifis or just one ?
spicoliEsea needs to be held accountable for their actions. Boo hoo, they're the biggest tf2 comp scene and we might lose that. They stole money from people in a shady way, they need to be shut down.
