DavidTheWinWhat fans do you have on the h110? Wondering why there's a gap between them

The gap looks way bigger in the picture than it actually is. Those are just the stock Corsair 140mm fans that came with the cooler. There is like half a cm space between them, I dunno why the picture makes it look so huge.

http://puu.sh/aSzpl/b4b0ce0c1b.JPG

Asus X79-Deluxe
i7-4930K @ 4.5 GHz
Gigabyte GTX780 Windforce
Corsair H110
16GB Corsair Vengeance @1600 MHz
Corsair AX860i PSU
Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD
All that in the Corsair Air 540

My fan splitter that I used for the 2 fans above the H110 actually died today, so if anyone can recommend a solid Y-Splitter that'll work longer than 2 months be happy to do so.

#131 HUD editing: short questions, quick answers in Customization
VectriIf you have access to sv_cheats 1, type vgui_drawtree 1 in console and see which element the text is being drawn from. Maybe that'll help?

That command is pretty amazing. And yeah I found it, the elements for the timer were called HudHintDisplay and HudHintKeyDisplay. Thanks for the quick response.

So the timer for jump/surf servers is overlapping with the velocity meter plugin, makes it kinda hard to tell how fast you're going on some jumps. Is there even a way to manipulate the x/y-pos of the timer?

#19 FPS at 144 but feels like 20? in Q/A Help

Do you have 2 Monitors?

I have a similar problem where my game feels like it's running at 60hz instead of 120.
Though it only happens on windows 8 and also only if the game is running in windowed mode.

As long as my second monitor is not showing any animations my game runs fine, but as soon as I watch a stream or something else, it drops down to 60Hz.

#132 TF2 benchmarks in TF2 General Discussion

I figured I could do a couple of benchmarks since there are so many options to go with:

http://puu.sh/9DVa9/c0c0097bcd.png

CPU and overclock: i7-4930K @ 3.4 GHz
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 780

Driver version: 335.23
Resolution: 1920x1080
Full-screen or windowed: Windowed, noborder

Additional notes: Aero disabled.

Edit:
Just because I really wanted to know the worst possible scenario:
maxquality conifg, dxlevel 98 and 2 Monitors

2639 frames 34.706 seconds 76.04 fps (13.15 ms/f) 4.838 fps variability

#3 Streaming issue with 2 monitors in Q/A Help
Alderare you running *edit:tf2 in* fullscreen or windowed borderless?
i would try fullscreen even though fullscreen can kinda be ass sometimes

I totally forgot about that sorry. Yeah I was running windowed/noborder, just changed it to fullscreen and it works fine thanks. Though I wish I wouldn't have to, since fullscreen kinda sucks but what ever.

#1 Streaming issue with 2 monitors in Q/A Help

Since I have 2 screens I usually stream with TF2 on my left monitor and the chat, or some other stuff on the right.
What I noticed is that every time someone posts something in chat, my game feels like it's running at 30 Hz instead of 120.

I've been playing around with that issue a little and found out that basically any motion on my second monitor puts TF2 down to 30 Hz, no FPS drops whatsoever, just feels really sloppy.
So I'm unable to read chat or basically have anything else running but my own game while streaming.

I'm using Windows 8.1 on a machine with a GTX 780 and an i7-4930K, so I doubt it's because my PC can't handle 2 screens.

Since I usually stream at 720p, 45 FPS and 3000 Bitrate I figured I could lower all that to a minimum but nothing changed.
I also tried disabling all the visual effects from Windows 8 that caused lags on my old computer.

Is there anything I can do to fix it, or is that just what happens when you use 2 screens?

#1 [Stream] guyyst in Requests

Hey,

I've started streaming jumping this week and will do so at least once a week.
Maybe I'll switch to mapping from time to time.

#13 SourceTV not working on MvM maps in TF2 General Discussion
KanecoI'm not a mapper but can't you like repack the mvm map to make it behave like a normal map?

Else, I think your only chance is to report this bug to valve and waiting for it to get fixed (never)

Already thought about decompiling it and changing the mode, but that would actually take a lot of time and some effort.
I don't wanna know the compile time for these maps...

But anyways, I'd rather have Valve fix it than using a shitty workaround, so yeah i sent a support ticket.

KanecoMaybe try with a different mat_queue_mode ? It seems to mess with a lot of demo stuff

Tried all of them and no difference

Mr_Owlverify game cache or something?

I can't think of a real issue that would cause this for some people but verifying does wonders for me when I get weird errors

Nope, didn't help.

So Heinz tried it and he has the same problem.
I just asked alle and it works fine for him.
I asked alle to give me his STV demo and it doesn't work for me.

valve pls

EDIT: Apperently alle was only able to play it 2 days ago, it's broken for him as well now.

leakyWhy do you need STV on MvM ?

I'm talking about local recording for offline freestyle jumps

All the STV demos I'm recording on MvM maps won't play, they crash with this error:

The STV works fine on every "normal" map.
