#185 ESEA PROMOTION in TF2 General Discussion
radiumjake_Aight boys fuck it. Ima play me some fuckin open.I wouldn't be shocked if ESEA flattens the divisions at this point. Open will be about the same size as IM/Main unless something drastic happens. If this were to happen, it would be similar to the situation before ESEA-IM - in which finishing 10-6 in Open would mean that you were a solid mid+ team.

Everybody could be playing themselves some fuckin open for S16.

If you're Killing, how do you allow a situation like this:
- 9 Invite
- 14 Main (people are going to save main rosters)
- 14 IM
- 15 Open

A (9 Invite) / (35-50 Open) configuration would be so much cleaner.

But... why would you do that? Having more divisions makes the competition better in the early stages of the season, makes the regular season more interesting for everyone, and gives people an tangible incentive to keep playing by division move-up (the same way ranks in starcraft and LoL are so effective).

Rikachuso what's the difference between 6.80 morphling and TI2 morphling?

His base stats are worse than they were TI2, morph mana cost is higher, e-blade mana cost is higher.

PhaserI really think the meat/flash game will be close...everyone seems to underestimate FS. Whether or not the medic/scout roster switch on meat was temporary or perm, could play a factor here. Though i don't see MM losing, i wouldn't necessarily be surprised if there was an upset here. Flash has been playing great all season, and even better in playoffs.

I've been having pretty severe internet problems. I'd love to play, but as it stands, I'm a liability if I try to play with 400 ping. Hopefully I'll be able to remedy my internet but if not, yeeegz is a capable medic and kost is the best backup scout any team could ask for, so I wouldn't think it hurts the team as much as it could have.

#8 The Soldier Backpacks in TF2 General Discussion
ViperStrikerThe only downsides I can think of is that if someone ever decides to try and run Conch to mid, their rollout is going to be slow, as the HP regen is passive and goes through the Escape Plan, slowing the Pocket, forcing them to be slow or shoot a rocket at themselves to gain more speed. It would also be a pain to build with a Soldier who's gaining an extra 2 HP back per second, slowing down the uber building process.

Neither of these are valid. It's not hard to rocket yourself in spawn to 30 instead of 60, and the building part is irrelevant, a pocket can just shoot more rockets at his feet, or actually use his buff to peek and trade spam where the regen will make a difference.

Demoname: esea_match_3510006
Class/role: Medic (team review though)
Division(if possible): High Open
Other notes: We/I tend to commit hard to fights. When is it too much/too little? How are we misplaying uber dis/advantage?

#179 TeamFortress.TV ZOWIE Invitational in News
rr-To be truthful, people complaining / being sarcastic about not being able to watch certain games aren't thinking of the players / casters. If tftv casted every single game, this tournament would last well over 9 hours. There would be 15 games to cast minimum, out of 19 possible if the finals go to two best of threes. They're trying their best to cast the closest games possible. But then again they could have more casters, but not everyone is free on sunday :/

Noone would be complaining if we had STVs :/

Game of Throws gave us the hardest match of the season. Beat us at every mid pretty much, we were lucky to win that one.

Durrwwpi cant be the only one that doesnt want a paytoplay league since the payment goes to the winning teams
and lets face it most people will lose, so most people will no benefit from a paytoplay league
i dont know the na since that well but im pretty sure the prizes go to the top 3 teams in each div
so most people wont get anything from paying
also new teams or people who want to get into competative will think twice before joining a league if they have to pay
do you really want to play epsilon 5$ per season? on the other hand more money might lead to more serious teams trying to beat epsilon
but it isnt that simple is it

It kind of is. Part of it is hosting for servers, maintaining staff for the league as well as the website and client, and part of it is to host a LAN and have a prize pool large enough to at least cover a substantial amount of the costs to get there, which is one of the primary reasons players play in invite in the U.S. Having league servers, and having STVs/scores/stats for current matches and previous matches all in one place are things that don't come for free and are essential to having a league that is taken seriously. At the very least it makes it feel like you're a part of a league worth putting effort into.

#29 BUDSQUAD vs. The Meat Market in TF2 General Discussion
Saberlondon_callingrenxzenwhy are ex-invite players playing in open again?
Sure they are offclassing but the gamesense it's still there. Also when they are loosing, they just go back to their invite classes and win the game (see powah from budsquad vs all in without allen).
I think it is terrible for new players to meet this kind of frustration, but hey that's just my opinion.

http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=stats&d=match&id=3495592

i'm sure you can go back and find the thread that talks about sandbagging and find all your questions answered there. none of those teams are unbeatable, least of all budsquad. their schedule hasn't been exactly hard.

and if its frustrating that other teams are better than your team, i don't know what to tell you. there are going to be teams that shit on you throughout your time playing 6s no matter what division you're in.
neither any of those standins are any good though

Yea that spadez guy is terrible, not like he made IM playoffs last season on the class he was playing or anything. Or in invite the season before that.
