Is doing this worth it?

It's preference. Personally I didn't really like it/ think it mattered, but it does reduce blur a bit.

fensterJessikaJungBlurrTop Notch clan still has one west mge serverThe Top Notch server is fine, but they allowed players to play as any class, so in a way it's a good thing, but also a bad thing. But the worst thing is spawns... Sometimes, you'll spawn in "space" and in order to get out you have to suicide, sometimes you'll be trapped 4 times in a row. Which sucks a lot, especially in maps like endif/no splash/ammomod.
I'm an admin for TN (though I do not run the servers). We're aware of the spawn glitch, it happened after we updated MGE and it seems to be a known issue:

We've tried a few things, notably downgrading SM since it seems like a problem with the teleport event, but to no avail. So for now we're just waiting on a fix to the MGE plugin itself based on that thread. I know it's a pain in the ass, but hopefully it'll be fixed eventually.

As far as the all-class thing....yeah, I hear you. I've tried to convince the server operator to put restrictions back into place but he never did. I'll try and bug him again.

Sorry for hijacking the thread. I am a fan of the TLR servers and sad to see them go. :(

Did you ever get the server to turn off damage spread? I unfavorited it a while back because I hated getting 61 damage melees and having someone live at 2, or dying to 110dmg directs, stuff like that.

SneakyPolarBearSome tips that have changed my scout game massively for the better:

- Point and click, don't hold down M1 trying to flickshot with the fire rate of the scatter.
- Let them come into your xhair rather than moving your xhair to them (scout v scout at least)
- Stay very calm. Do not get tense or flick your mouse hoping for miracle shots, just stay focused and play crisply.
- Use movement to aim. This is pretty simple, but strafing into your shots is more reliable than flicking to them.

Eh. Movement to aim can be more reliable, but at the same time it's better to have aim separate from movement somewhat, so you can aim while you are dodging. That's something that separates good scouts from amazing scouts. And letting the scout run into your crosshair is somewhat reliable, but it can also lead to bad habits. I think being able to track and flick from tracking gives your opponent less control over your aim and let you move freely compared to aiming through your movement, if more difficult and less consistent in getting meatshots.

his playstyle was specific to the situation he was in last season.

Well... This is from my, admittedly limited experience with him on medic and soldier in situations like pugs and ringing scrims, and watching matches and from his teammates. It could just be a result of him playing down and thinking his playstyle the best way to win in those situations, but I don't think it would work in IM and even if it was situational, it takes time to adjust.

I think he's an alright guy if you're on his good side, and his dm/heals are certainly capable of mid open. He did call me "mid steel at best" in my looking thread though :( I still hold a grudge. I wish he didn't tell me to get the fuck out every time I'm in mumble with him too... makes me sad. WHAT DID I DO CHOPSTICKS?

2sy_morphiendTo this day the most intense matches of all time were played in season 1 on ctf_2fort. The rules for that map were so atrocious it was more a sheer test of will than anything else.

It's sarcastic, and it means that he thinks that trying people out in MGE is amusing. Which he's totally right about, MGE tells you almost nothing about how good someone is on a team.

It was completely irrelevant shitposting, it was in basically every single thread on the site, it was the same person, it was the same shitposting, and large embedded pictures are pretty distracting. So, I think one thread is far from an overreaction.
