#9 requesting talented mapper in Map Discussion

Are you requesting ports of Quake maps or entirely new TF2 maps in the quake arena style?

Because it was my library card number and I thought it was cool how I got the one ending in 12345 so I went with it.

This wall seems a little out of place, I assume it's to make fast soldier rollouts a bit more difficult since they're already really powerful. Also maybe unclip that little slanted area?

I'm pretty sure that wall is there to block a sightline onto the second point from mid.

#29 FnF feedback in TF2 General Discussion
london_callingyou could also experiment with doing a semi-round robin instead of single elimination. maybe instead of every team playing every other team, teams could play 3 matches and based on how well they do they get a certain number of points. winners would still go on to playing other teams (ie if you win 2 the final match you would play would be against another 2-0 team, 1-1 teams play 1-1 teams).

the scoring per match might be tricky though. 5-0 could mean 5 pts for the winners, 0 pts for the losers. 5-3 or 5-4 would be 4 pts for the winners and 3 pts for the losers. and a 5-2 or 5-1 would mean 3 pts for the winners and 1 pt for the loser. i dont know actually this seems pretty convoluted now that i think about it. just a thought.

Best way to do this kind of system would be (2x your score) - (their score), round negatives up to zero. so a 5-0 would be 10 for the winners, 0 for the losers, and a 5-4 would be 6 for the winners, 3 for the losers. 2-1 would be 3 for the winners, 0 for the losers, etc.

#1 Building another PC - Hackintosh in Hardware

I'm building a computer for a friend who knows absolutely nothing about computers. It will be used professionally for motion graphics and video editing so it needs to be pretty decent and last a good while - I don't want to have to build another computer for this particular person again soon.

The catch is that it must run MacOS (either Lion or Mountain Lion) as the primary operating system. I fought a long time trying to convince my friend that a Windows machine would be easier to build for, but she's convinced she needs a Mac for the kinds of things she's doing. We looked at the options to buy a Mac from the Apple Store or a 3rd party retailer but they're much too expensive for what you get (in my opinion) and they're much too expensive for her wallet.

So it will have to be a Hackintosh. I've looked into the options for getting a clean install without any problems and it looks like it can be quite finicky to set up. You also have to be picky about the parts you choose. I've used the 2013 Pro build from Kakewalk as the base, but I need some help selecting a few pieces. I'd prefer to buy from newegg because of their excellent customer support but if I have to buy from Amazon or somewhere else I will.

Here's the current setup:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770

#4 Cadred.org editorial on crowd-funding in eSports in Esports

I'm not sure if his points on keeping people honest through established systems of exchange amount to much - ESEA is a business and I've yet to hear any definitive resolution to the bitcoin fiasco earlier this year - it's not just self-proclaimed charity cases that prove unanswerable to the ones that provide their income.
