Needs for a LAN

-location big enough for 12 computers (basement or large room would do) in a fairly central, easy to travel to location
-12 computers similar enough that no one has an advantage (or 12 of the players bring a rig to pool)
-minimal net gear for under 30 pcs
-connection good enough for streaming
-PCs and space/separate room for casters
-a couple people to make sure everything is sorted for the players (rides and shit)
-Lange tech support

A 12 person LAN isn't some unattainable mythical thing only for large organisations. Get a couple eXtv guys there, and I fucking guarantee you'd have enough gear for a pro broadcast, or at least some interviews to go along with online casting. Print up some posters, and stick them to cardboard, and your shit looks pro.

I mean shit... If I didn't live on an island in western Canada I'd offer my place, and take the week prior off to get the place looking good for free. Any of you starving students could bring a sleeping bag, and crash wherever. There's gotta be someone else as geeky as I am that could sort out a location.

Fucking guarantee if this community actually worked together it could happen for a reasonable price. The 1st LAN would be the most expensive, and after that it would get easier. If you could do it well, sponsors would probably get interested.
