#3 TF2 Mouse Issues in Q/A Help

seems like it's a software issue

1 - make sure vsync is off (mat_vsync 0 as well as off/application controlled in graphics driver)
2 - try uncapping your fps
3 - test fullscreen vs windowed
4 - if none of these work, type differences into console, copypaste output into a pastebin, and link it here, along with your system info, graphics driver settings for tf2, and any windows tweaks or firmware that you have installed

also just fyi, all those mousefixes and launch options and stuff are completely unnecessary

#147 We need to talk about the booties in TF2 General Discussion

booties are really annoying to play against as romer or scout but imo the only seriously overpowered thing about them is their synergy with quickiebomb

1) you dont need pipes with quickiebomb because theyre so ridiculously easy in close range 1v1s that no scout of equivalent skill can get near you

2) booties improve your survivability because you can dodge so much more shit and +25 hp

3) the lack of traps is minimised by the fact that traps are kind iffy with booties anyway because you can't spam anything if you have a trap up

4) the lack of pipe spam/extra stickies is completely outweighed by the extra dps at long range (because stickies charge up WAY faster and ramp up damage with charge, meaning you can be more accurate as well as putting out more damage per sticky, and more stickies per second)

5) when pushing badlands last you can literally negate the termo spot completely killing their stickies before they can det them (!!!) and basically have a huge advantage when playing point, you can also use this ability to protect your medic or whatever from a demo bomb or shield your scouts capping granary second and a BUNCH of stupid shit

#17 raw input in mm in Q/A Help
mackeyMy aim feels different in MM, almost like sometimes it accels.

Also, why in the fuck is zoom_sens locked?

Also how do I get past rank 1.

1) almost certainly because of worse framerate introducing inconsistent input/output latency. however some people think the accuracy of in-game raw input is affected by framerate - there is a program called sourcegl which allows you to use a "superior" third party raw input system in source games (don't worry, it's 100% vac safe and apparently usable in esea). this may or may not help with your problem, but a lot of people say they perform better with it so it's maybe worth a go?

2) pretty sure valve locked all cvars by default in mm then unlocked the ones they thought appropriate, so zoom sens ratio is probably an oversight

3) win

#16 dx9.1 runs better than dx8.1? in Q/A Help

gpu offloading IS bullshit but afaik 95 includes some processing optimisations that make it run slightly better than 90

98 on the other hand has better graphical fidelity at the cost of performance

#10 Mouse Problems, only TF2. Help, pls fam! in Q/A Help

make sure raw input is on, m_filter 0, sensitivity set to normal number, m_customaccel 0, m_customaccel_exponent 1, m_pitch/m_yaw 0.022? try removing your config and using -autoconfig or whatever the default tf2 launch option is? sounds like a weird issue

#499 what's yo inches/360 in Off Topic
Bucake
it's true for almost all older mice/sensors that they will only track properly at certain steps. newer mice like the DA 2013 / chroma or G303 etc are different in this regard - they will still track well at higher DPI levels, but from certain levels will add more delay to counter jitter.
so if ShdSteel wants a solid answer then he'd have to name his mouse or just use google.
and i think there will be skipping if you go above a certain in-game sens. i think it was something like 2.7 or 2.9 for tf2.

few gaming mice released in the past few years will track differently at different dpi steps, I definitely wouldn't say most (the only recent one that comes to mind is the steelseries rival 100). also "none will track properly past 1800" is completely untrue considering the pmw3310 has native dpi steps up to 5000 and 3366 variants can reach 12000 without an issue. the deathadder 2013/chroma has an extra 4 ms of smoothing beyond 1550 cpi if I remember correctly but I wouldn't call that "improper tracking" considering pretty much every mouse has some level of mcu-level smoothing.

also the number you're referring to is probably the value for pixel skipping at 1920 x 1080 but pixel skipping in fps games really doesn't matter unless you find it looks bad or you use like sensitivity 50

#318 Donald Trump in World Events
pine_beetleThe point I was making is people are more worried about feelings than facts. Sometimes the truth hurts but it needs to be said. I believe in free speech and the right to make outrageous statements. If you can't do that you are slowly but sure censoring the people and in the longterm it's a very bad thing.

disagreement != censorship
trump is pretty much the opposite of censored, in fact "outrageous" opinions are rarely the repressed ones in the us. candidates should be judged on the validity of their actual stance, not the scalar controversy they create.
