#7 Need help on making a fps config to run tf2 better in TF2 General Discussion

I used to be in a situation similar to yours, and to be honest, there's nothing you can really do to make your game run as decently as you want short of buying a new computer. The best thing you can do is find a config and tweak it to your liking. I know you said not to recommend other configs that are floating around out there, but if the config is comprehensive enough, then you basically have all the commands at your disposal to make your game run as best as possible. I used to use Chris's configs, and there were comments for many of the commands so that I could adjust them accordingly. I think Comanglia's config is pretty popular nowadays, and after looking at it, it looks to have all the commands you need.

Other than that, you could run the game at a lower resolution (1024x768 or 800x600), make sure you don't have any unecessary background processes running, or save up for a new computer.

Again, there's no magic setting(s) that you can take advantage of to make your laptop run TF2 as you wish it would. I don't think there's any hidden setting not found in any of the already established configs/threads that would cause TF2 to run at a stable framerate on a computer as underpowered as yours.

#18 Suggestions for a new mouse? in Hardware

Zowie mice are decent. I'm using a ZA11 right now, and it works just fine. However, it does use blue Huano switches, which you may or may not find to be an issue since they require a slight bit more force to actuate than many Omron switches. Also, while the mouse is decently built, I wouldn't call it super-sturdy or "premium feeling." But if your grip works with any of their mice and you prefer your mice to be slightly lighter, then they are not a bad choice at all, especially since their newer series of mice use a pretty good sensor. If you can find one in the ~$40 range, I'd definitely pick one up.

#16 New mouse Help in Hardware

Sounds like a faulty cord. It shouldn't be too hard to fix, you just have to replace the cord. Here's a video explaining what to do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIC8p3CGEQg

V8 has more maps that don't get played too often (Turris, Gravelpit C, etc.) I also noticed some bugs on V8 such as clipping on Spire and spawning out of the map in Snakewater. Here's a changelog if you'd like to find out more specifics: https://github.com/Lange/MGEMod/blob/master/changelog.txt

#27 Cock Launcher Vs Stock RL in TF2 General Discussion

It is both accurate and precise. You can get it to go exactly where you want, and it will do so in a consistent manner.

You really can't say that the stock is "not accurate." You can consistently get your rockets to land where you want them to go. It might not be spot on with respect to the crosshair for close range shots, but if you develop a sense for the trend of the rocket, you can get it to go where you want just as much as with the Original.

#15 G400s/DA 3.5G weight comparison? in Hardware

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'm pretty set on the G400s, though. I know that Zowie is a pretty reputable name around here, but I'm just not interested in getting a Zowie mouse.

#10 G400s/DA 3.5G weight comparison? in Hardware

Thanks, Twinqe! You answered my question exactly. Looks like I'll be getting the G400s :)

PlatypusRMA your abyssus with razer, they have a surprisingly decent warranty, and good CS, you'll get a non-jitter one

As for my Abyssus, I'm probably going to RMA it some time in the near future, but I've heard that people have had to RMA it multiple times to get one that doesn't jitter. I'd rather go with the solid bet of the G400s in the mean time.

#1 G400s/DA 3.5G weight comparison? in Hardware

The right click on my DeathAdder 3.5G is starting to give out, which is a pretty major problem considering I use right click to jump. Because of this, I think the time is right to get a new mouse. I got an Abyssus not too long ago, but I don't plan on using it any more because it's got an annoying jitter problem with the sensor (getting one that doesn't jitter on cloth pads is apparently a hard gamble). What I do like about the Abyssus, though, is the weight. It's lighter than my DA, making it a bit more nimble when making large swipes (I use 13.6 in/360, btw).

Backstory aside, I plan on either getting a Logitech G100s or G400s (G100s:Abyssus::G400s:DeathAdder). My question is what is the weight difference between the DA 3.5G and G400s? I know there are probably some numbers floating around, but in terms of actual feel, how does the weight difference compare? Any experienced input is greatly appreciated!

#3 Crosshair Question in Customization

There's the achievement tracker crosshair method. May not be your cup o' tea, but might help.

#15 crosshair question in Customization

To make the painfully obvious logic clear: Asking whether or not a a crosshair that changes color based on what surface it is on is like asking if it's possible to equip your Scout with an M4A4 from CS:GO. It's just not possible unless Valve decides to implement it (which they haven't, if you're still wondering).

Dessert Trio ice cream. Cookie dough, pecan brownie pieces, and chocolate covered cake pieces mixed in vanilla ice cream with a fudge swirl. It sounds super rich, but it's probably the most incredible ice cream that's made sweet chocolately love to my tastebuds.
