Dr_Heinzdownpouri dont really understand how someone could want war this badlyMoney and power, some people gain loads of those when there is a war.

Certainly plenty of people already became millionaires because of this, gold started surging immediately.

AdmirableleavesAlso I tried to put together a list of synonyms or alternatives for the phrase 'taken down':
killed, slain, slaughtered, eliminated, liquidated, eradicated, owned, crushed, whacked, mulched, eviscerated, iced, smoked, dealt with, pulverised, dunked on, decimated, destroyed, knocked off, necrotized, pulped, thrashed, annihilated, defeated, neutralized, violated, done away with, undone, dispatched, disposed of, fragged, rubbed out, demulsified, deleted, murdered, terminated, exterminated, removed, wasted, finished off, shut down, vanquished, nullified, negated, evaporated, sublated, bumped off, deanimated, discontinued, discarded, put away, put down, immaterialized, sacrificed for the glory of the gods that demand blood and soil and control points and cannot be reasoned with, torn to pieces, put to death.

I think it's only fair that we should make it our mission to use every term in this list.

I'll donate a dollar to the i52 LANge fund for each one you utter, that's $56 max if I can count right

#48 Open (lower bracket) finals in TF2 General Discussion

From Europe, so I'm not sure I quite understand the ESEA system, so forgive me if this is completely wrong. Is it not the intended way that teams enter the league through Open? In the ETF2L you provide admins with screenshots/logs of scrims where you showcase that your roster can play better than entry-level, and the history of the players affects that as well.

As far as I understand, in the ESEA this can only be done in Invite. Perhaps I'm wrong? If it could be done in IM or Main, it would be inappropriate for BUDSQUAD and the other team in the finals to play in Open. But if it can't be done, how is it that the popular opinion in this thread is that the teams ought to somehow "cheat" the system? Is the system not run by admins who enforce that the league is played the way it is intended to play? If it is, shouldn't it be the case that new teams that can't make it to Invite are supposed to go to Open and if they somehow don't end up there, they are punished for "cheating" the system? Or at least the fraud is rectified and the new team that can't play in Invite is made to play in Open? Are the admins not concerned with the matter? Or is the system so unfathomably confounded that it would be exceptional and unfair if the system worked as intended and the admins were there to see that it works like that? If that was the case, has there not been an effort to change the system to fit the popular opinion? Change it so that new teams can legitimately enter the league at a level where their individuals' past seasons are taken into account, as long as recent team scrim results support that assessment?

Or can the system not be changed? If the system can't be changed, why is it not regarded as broken? If the system is regarded as broken, how are the players blamed? Please explain to a dumb outsider.

#17 Reggae Music in Off Topic

Not a huge aficionado, and haven't sought out anything interesting in the last few years, but I occasionally enjoy some roots reggae and 70s dub.

These are the songs I hold in highest regard:

The Congos - Fisherman

Augustus Pablo - Natural Way

Lee "Scratch" Perry & The Upsetters - Dread Lion

Dadawah - Run Come Rally

Which is technically nyabinghi I guess

#30 fps drop recently? in Q/A Help

I had a similar problem earlier this year, caused by some update. Last year I had a constant 132 framerate, but from January onwards my FPS kept dropping and dropping and at the worst point it was pretty much always 30-40 during fights. It was fucking horrible. But everything was fixed when I disabled multicore rendering, in fact I can now have 300 FPS constantly.

This is what danger shield does now :(
So they removed the non-headshot bonus from the full set and tacked it onto a single item instead?

Not quite: before, even a fully charged headshot did 149 dmg against the set, now it's that the quick 150 dmg headshots and fully charged bodyshots that don't kill the sniper. A charged headshot still does big damage.

#153 New kind of 6v6? in TF2 General Discussion
wareyaroamer can't go pyro

:(

/personal sads because personal whims

Yes, this would happen. But in a way I think it would also diversify and enrich some of the tendencies and skills of the current 6s playerbase. It is way easier for an aspiring player of one of the flank roles to learn and practice his very own off-classes thoroughly as his aptitude at them would suddenly become a bit more emphasized. (Knowing that one of your probable jack-of-all-trades buddies can't go sniper or pyro, it may be up to you to land that clutch that headshot or reflect-rocket.)

Let us also keep in mind that your average pubbers aren't nine-class polymaths that need to have everything always-already at-hand. Like your competitive players, they have their spontaneous favourites as well as their reservations and hesitations that have slowly shaped their playing habits. And this stays with them when they get into competitive. For instance, I am certain there are scout mains who detest, say, heavy and always refuse to play it even if their team would benefit from it.

It's a point that's not always easy to grasp: removing all boundaries tends to enforce entirely new boundaries, and limiting your possibilities incentivizes you to explore the depths of those possibilities. Therefore the seemingly eclectic and refreshing wacky class-limit of 2 would actually make the game far more simplistic and tedious, as you'd end up with 2 demos, 2 medics and 2 heavies or something comparatively abysmal. For competitions are to be won. Teeth, to be gnashed. It's serious!

AND this ultimately would not bridge the gap between pub and competitive play, but it is something that I imagine mechanically doable without the oversimplified yet massively game-changing proposals (CL1/CL2) that are being thrown around.

It may initially appear confusing in the eyes of someone who has not seen 6v6 played, but at least the gameplay would be enormously less ambiguous to someone trying it.

#70 Share your story on getting into comp in Q/A Help

I was playing intensively on the very popular Finnish Pelipurkki pubs. In the summer of 2011, I noticed a name I knew from those servers on the tournament page for the Assembly Summer LAN: dajackal. Usually he was crushing the pubs singlehandedly as demoman, but he was playing medic for SG-1, (earlier known as Power Gaming and later as Dignitas; with hocz, Punpu, hymzi, cookye and mafu). I found out how to watch the games live, and was eager to see how he'd do. They won--and as a newbie, I merely remember being in awe of the play's fast pace and the dynamism of the rocket jumps.

Afterwards I searched for some more casted games on Youtube, found VanillaTV (as well as eXtv) and started following it closely enough to watch the i43 and ETF2L Season 10 coverage live. Then, I think it was all about Salamancer, and I became very fascinated with Highlander, as it seemed easier to learn. Ended up registering on ETF2L and composing a team for both 9v9 and later, for 6v6.
