#22 TF2.gg Beta Launch in TF2 General Discussion

This seems like a really cool system. Hopefully it becomes used, so you can hop on and play a game even when it's not peak hours.

I use the SteelSeries Sensei, is the acceleration prediction really that bad? I haven't noticed any issues personally, am I missing something?

I wasn't sure how to reply... Maybe I need to stockpile some equally ridiculous videos should he find another one of these?

So I'm sitting at my desk peacefully watching a stream and my roommate messages me a link to this beauty:

#16 ESEA-Invite: Classic Mixup vs. Below Average in Events
Fogserv0I feel like Main isn't getting much love. Most main games so far have been extremely close and would be better to cast then a 15 minute invite game IMO. Yeah, I've wanted to cast a few of the main games that were especially close, but the potential scheduling conflicts (match overlap) for previously scheduled casts made it near impossible. Don't worry though, I'm trying to get at least 1 match casted per week in each division.

<3 Fog and everyone else who works to schedule and produce weekly casts

#223, stuff comes up. Suppose your parents called two days before you're supposed to have a match and say "We're coming to your college, and taking you out to dinner". What are you going to tell them, that you're too busy with video games? It's all well and good to have defined rules, but you're pushing a little too far into the black and white; there are shades of gray in life.

PYYYOURsnip

It's not fair for people (where most of whom don't know you) to be calling you bipolar just because you've had some controversial opinions/have been involved in invite drama before. It seems to me you've been screwed over by ESEA pretty hard over the years, thanks for sticking with it as long as you did. And while I don't always agree with you, I respect you for having opinions and stating them, it's very often a mark of good character. Best of luck to you in the future Mr. Ross, and hopefully you'll return someday to a better league :)

#31 Discussion of TF2 Streams on Twitch in TF2 General Discussion

I think Strongsuit makes an important point. We have so many great writers in the community, could we put together a large document as a collaborative effort and send it as a letter to various organizations looking for sponsorship. It would have to include our goals, reasons why we should be sponsored, and a strong showing of a unified community supporting the game. Obviously some of this work would fall on the shoulders of a select few committed and organized writers, but we could also include testimonials and statements from everyone who posts one, almost like a petition. With any luck, somebody would pick us up, although the worst thing any organization can do is simply turn us down.

BurnDLRhetoricalAnarchistAre any third party leagues a possibility at all? Something like MLG? I honestly don't know too much about the eSports scene outside of ESEA.
No, if any outside leagues had any interest in TF2, it would have happened by now.

Has the community ever tried to get picked up by another league? It seems to me something like that doesn't just fall out of the sky.

#9 tunnel visioning hard how2fix in Off Topic

In all seriousness though, if you find yourself tunnel visioning, slow it down, play it by the books, don't let yourself become confused. Find your med, shoot feet and get kills, you don't need to try to keep the game going at an insane pace, try to force the other team to think twice before doing something crazy.
