Zowie FK is very sturdy, simple as possible, and has a 450 dpi setting (click the one button on the bottom until the light turns red).

Laptop for TF2

I've been running an ASUS laptop for the last 5 years, it's not great on battery and it weighs more than the brass beast, but it runs tf2 at ~150 fps. Heat control is amazing, and it isn't as loud as any previous one I owned.
Only complaint is there is no SPDIF audio or Dual-DVI on mine (newer ones might have, dunno).
Definite +1 to ASUS from me.

I know my fps dies when I look at a quick-fix uber, perhaps you're seeing more of them since the update and this is happening?
If I get qf-ubered and look down, my fps goes from 150 to like... 2. (DONT LOOK DOWN)
