capnnofapnbrody>new esports fps game
>the game is an in-universe televised sport/reality tv show
so tiring. who is asking for this?
pretty sure im stating the obvious here but i think the justification for this is that if the in-universe game is a sport, then people irl will be more likely to think of it as an esport. It makes sense for a game like rocket league, which is literally soccer, but for a tac shooter it just comes off like the game is going to be another forced esport. 5 years ago this might've worked to their benefit, but now even normie gamers are wary of anything that looks "esportsy".
also have to consider appeasing to any committees that see video games as violence and rage inducing. instead of posing it as police vs terrorists or whatever you can at least make it passable by posing it this way
at fireside we came into the LAN thinking of what we wanted to do media and we did some interviews of 5 of the 6 invite teams at the lan
unfortunately had a few hiccups but kind of improvised (e.g. using the phone as a mic rofl) but i'd say it's still pretty good content :)
most questions pertained to roster composition/events leading up to RGL 6s S15 LAN and day 1 matches at the LAN (aside from the skeez interview, which had taken place after the LBF on Day 2)
will add the interviews as they upload to yt

aside from the obvious just find an old mumble version that supports w7

A neat tool we're using (thank you Dr. Underscore) is player whitelisting for the MGE Cup. We can whitelist certain players to show them on the broadcast hud. Albeit the killfeed will show other players on the server, but still a neat thing Underscore developed for us for this tournament!
(Also the player bars have been lowered to remain consistent with other broadcast HUDs for other esports, if you haven't noticed!)

huge grey line in the ruleset for how ringer demos apply to penalizing the ringer themself or the team entirely, imo the team should be granted an exception for this one and the rule's application to this scenario should be more clarified in the rulebook for next season
also huge vouch for m17 he does a lot more work than the other admins. doesn't care about community perception of him. he's someone who does things by the book and DOES NOT do things out of self interest in gaining favoritism. though some decisions are questionable but at least it has good intent behind the actions
