#1 Lawena Help in Q/A Help

After trying countless times to run Lawena and constantly failing, I am not sure what I am screwing up
I launch Lawena normally from the folder and let it replace my TF2 config and everything, but when it attempts to edit my registry and I give it permission, it replaces my old config and goes as if I had not clicked to launch TF2
I have checked the error files in Lawena and enabled mini dumping accordingly.
I do not believe this is steampipe related as I have reinstalled Lawena
several times to ensure correct mapping of the directories.
I have attempted to use the fixes found in other threads on this site such as launching TF2 through steam when Lawena would say "Starting TF2," though it merely closes TF2 when it asks permission to edit the registry.
When run as an admin, it does not ask permission and instead closes shortly after playing the game intro
I have tried all options through compatibility mode as well, to no luck
Computer Specs
OS Windows 8
Graphics Card - Nvidia GTS 450
As of this post I have 23.6 GB of free space

I apologize in advance if I have done any wrong by posting this thread.
And a big thank you to anyone who reads this wall of text. If I forgot anything please say so and I will fix it as soon as I see it

#2 Quake Live and other Quake-like games in Off Topic

I play Quake Live every now and then. It's one of the most difficult games I've ever played, so if you're looking for a challenge it's definitely worth a shot

Not_MatlockNow we just need a Yz reaction video of him watching this.

I imagine he'd look at it uninterested and then lie on the floor for a nap

#3 Red/Black Flashes and Disabled Fire + Viewmodels in Q/A Help

Thanks, the second part fixed my viewmodels and particles, it hadn't been rebound as of yet though I thought it had
And as for the flashes, it appears to be the Nvidia drviers freaking out with dx8 for some reason.
Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it

#1 Red/Black Flashes and Disabled Fire + Viewmodels in Q/A Help

Title says it all, I get random red and black flashes on key presses, as well as viewmodels are disabled and first-person fire particles.
This started to happen after I swapped to yz50's config and hud, but has persisted even after reinstalling TF2 and removing the hud. I now use ScizHud with konrwings. I am not running OpenPlugin either
This is a demo of the flashes and fire, which I hope will be able to be viewed on other computers. The demo isn't too long, the flashes and fire are demonstrated near the end as well
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2m-yZSIizfsU0RTUGdxS1dhdGM/edit

This is becoming very aggravating. Any indicator to what has caused this would be appreciated. I will reinstall TF2 again and clear out the Steam Cloud after backing up my files, though if I could get a clue to save some time, I'd much rather have that
If anything is missing, please let me know. I can post specs if they are needed as well. Thank you in advance!

Fubarthat's all very valid feedback, thanks for checking out the map.
I'm sorry for any frustration caused by the inaccessible platforms. they are meant to be pleasing to the eye but I see where they can interfere with gameplay. I might need to remove some or find a way to make things clearer.

I have been thinking about the hiding spot on screen above last for a while now. I'm not yet sure what I want to do with it but I've been thinking about making it less hollow and so, to make anyone standing there more exposed. adding something for scouts to get up there is also a possibility

as for the fence you requested, I quite like the look it has at the moment but I guess I can add in a fence to make sure no rockets or pipes gets lost.

I'd have very little issue with the car lot area as well, I like how it looks as well, almost has a Portal feeling to it (The ending of Portal 1). These were the areas that came to mind when I looked around. I have yet to play it sadly, but I will let you know what I think as soon as I do. Thanks for making this map

#19 Vanguard in Map Discussion

Now I'm not a mapper by any means, so if I say something incorrect, please correct me. These are the thoughts I had when I took a look about the cp version without playing it

Some of the areas players don't have access to are a little counterintuitive, and are quite frusterating for people looking through this map at first. Some are much more nitpicky than the others, and are more than likely fine, such as the area behind first spawn
Areas I'm talking about

Especially since you can stand here on one of them
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=138020584

A fence may be better suited for this area, perhaps similar to the ones on koth_badlands, as well as on the other areas as well I mentioned
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=138020615

Something like this as well may work, this area of the map demonstrates what I mean by fence well
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=138021566

This area may be an issue as well, since Scouts are unable to reach it, only Soldiers could make good use
http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/846950070903295725/992F631D29F0CB9CEAF22D5BF8110C3AAF366025/

I definitely like this hiding spot and the fact that it can be spammed, making it a good risk reward area
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=138022037

Overall, I really like the atmosphere of this map a lot. It flows very naturally as well. I'm very interested to see how it plays though, and will definitely let you know if something is an issue in playing it. I look forward to any future updates you make

Great Expectations is also very well written, although Dicken's being paid by the word is very evident and made it a lot tougher to keep interest in
