#7 All HUDs cause Lag in Q/A Help

Ok, I have fixed the problem. Apparently I had an awful autoexec.cfg =/

A while ago I was reading this guide that said to put something in the autoexec file. I had no idea wtf a cfg was then and did it. Now I have the famous Chris' Max Quality config and it appears to work great. So thanks :)

IsoYou might want to try converting the custom HUD files to a .vpk when you install it next time. It makes the game read the HUD files faster instead of having to go through Windows's file system to get to them.

You can make vpk files with this http://tf2.gamebanana.com/tuts/11256

This sounds good. I'll do that when I can later.

blinKThe performance options you use could most certainly be creating issues. If you want proper advice you need to be more detailed and specific with what exactly it is that youre working with. Post your computer specs and list the commands youre using in your cfgs. TF2 is very sensitive if one minor thing is off it could create a lot of issues.

I wil post them later, can't do it now :)

#1 All HUDs cause Lag in Q/A Help

I've been testing out HUDs, and I ran into a BIG problem. It seems like occasionally with ANY HUD installed, my game will lag and make playing impossible. Shots will shoot with a delay and when I try to shoot another the game will "spaz out" (there is no other way to describe it). This has occurred with FrankenHUD, Rayshud and eveHUD. And yes, the game runs fine with the default HUD.

My computer is good and is not a laptop. The default hud is awful, and I really want to use a better one, but if this happens I can't. I even tried setting some graphics options to medium instead of high, with the same result. Also, in my .cfg file, I have some performance options on there, but I don't know if that would make a difference. Do any of you have a good method to fix this problem?
