YankeeMost entry level humanities classes aren't going to require too much effort

That can be true. But they wont be rewarding either.

Dont take easy university courses by thinking it will be nice.

University is the best time in your life. USE IT WISELY.

You will probably work for 35/40 years of your life and it will be pain.

Son, dont underestimate university!

Figure out what you're good at and what you aren't.

I've suffered in a lot of "easy" courses at university because busy work - especially writing - makes my eyes glaze over. Other people have recommended me courses, one was "you have to write a page every week on a TV show, it's super easy", and I barely choke out the page and am utterly miserable in the course and my grade suffers. In this respect, entry level humanities courses were never good for me.

By comparison, math and programming courses came easy to me so beginner programming courses were what I took to bring my grade up. Writing a thousand lines of code is easier for me than writing a thousand coherent words, so if I'm going to take a course that revolves around "busy work", I'd rather it be programming work.

That said, it's also good to have variety. Spending 4 hours doing programming work seems a lot harder than spending 2 hours doing programming work and 2 hours doing math. Finding a mix that's good for you is important.

"Easy" courses also depend on your university - most of us couldn't tell you what's easy at your university in specific. Check sites like http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ to find out who's an easy prof. A general rule is "the lower the number, the easier it is", although this depends on subject matter and has some variation in terms of workload.

For me, the easy classes were intro humanities (psychology, anthropology, and sociology).

There's nothing wrong with taking some easy classes to help your GPA out if it needs boosting, but don't take too many or you'll graduate college with no skills at all, thus searching for a job with a fantastic GPA but no solid skills like I did :D

Why take "easy" courses when you have to pay $50,000 a year to go to college in the first place? Besides, more often than not, these "easy" courses overload you with boring work and make you hate yourself in the process.

Take courses that you are interested in. Don't know any, talk to an adviser. They will be the most fun and probably the easiest for you.
