deathadder optimal settings

hello. i just received my deathadder 2013 in the mail today and downloaded razer synapse 2.0 on my computer. I'm wondering if there are any optimal DPI, polling rate, or any other settings that work best with this mouse. To avoid confusion, i am basically asking if there is a setting that actually makes the mouse perform better (no skipping, faster response, better tracking) and not really anything that has to do with personal preference. thank you

Doesn't max polling rate mean it'll be better because it's sending/receiving information faster? As far as I understand, dpi doesn't matter all that much.

polling rate should be as high as possible without causing performance or consistency problems
on some computers 1000hz causes problems like that so if it does then use the next lowest setting (500?)

DPI should be max, or second to max if the smoothing is noticable on your mousepad.

I remember DA's were optimal at 1800 dpi. Apparently this mouse is fine with any of the preset dpi so idk.

wareyaDPI should be max, or second to max if the smoothing is noticable on your mousepad.

IIRC, the deathadder is perfect on the default DPI (1800), but sometimes has issues on other DPIs. This might've changed in the 2013 though.

No one has found out the native DPI of the DA 2013 sensor. 1600 is probably the most likely though. I use 400 on mine. The DPI steps are also unknown, but this is what some people think.

I assume its native steps are quotients of 6400 dpi and 6400 itself. So probably 3200, 1600, and maybe 800 and 400 and probably other combinations between 800(?) and 6400 depending on what the smallest native dpi step really is.

And as always, use a polling rate of 1000.

so im going to do 1800 dpi, 1000 hz polling rate, and 0 accel. this is fine?

every deathadder model has a different optimal DPI
IIRC the 3.5g is best with maxed out DPI if it's on a cloth pad, and the one that's best at 1800 was one of the models that came before it.

This guy has a 2013 which has a slightly different sensor than any of the other ones (optical light instead of IR light).

also, what does overclocking do to your mouse? is it beneficial?

jewbagelsalso, what does overclocking do to your mouse? is it beneficial?

only if you have a WMO
overclocking doesn't mean anything to most modern gaming mice because the "overclock" is built-in (which is why you can select polling rates above 125 hz)

i think i read somewhere that a lower dpi is worse since the mouse may skip or something.. I'm probably completely wrong though. Also what does having a "native" DPI for a mouse do? sorry for asking a lot of questions, i don't know very much about topics like these.

jewbagels, if you're interested in learning about mouse sensors this is a very interesting watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc7JVjcPzL0

DPI affects only how many pixels the mouse moves onscreen when you move it a certain distance, virtually nothing more. 1k hz polling rate should be fine, as well as no accel.
