Ever since steam changed the look of chat, my game runs at like 70fps if I have a chat window open...
I close the window, back to full performace, someone sends me a message, frames drop.
Anyone else have this/know a fix? D:

turn off steam overlay in game and try launching steam with -nochatui and -nofriendsui to revert the steam changes if you dont mind reverting.

Typical valve behavior. Release a confusing new UI that nobody asked for, that also makes you drop dozens of frames. I have this theory that out of the 300 valve employees half work on dota2/VR, and the other half are just chefs who make food constantly for Gaben.
I mean, why spend time improving the game, fixing bugs, and adding new content when you can just add cosmetics: https://i.imgur.com/Cx5Frzx.png
This is literally their mindset, why fix the minisentry selfhealing bug when we can add more fugly hats like a giant banana that you can paint lime green? Sure, the game runs like dogshit despite low graphical fidelity, but just look at all that VALUE you get!
