I use an AMD card
basically I want my desktop and tf2 like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGaANzokZx4
so I can get a wider fov and also because I want the black bars
I've tried radeon settings and CRU both and I can achieve 1920x800 but it's squished and full panel instead of black bars on the top and bottom
I made a post on the wider fov thread about this but no one answered me
edit: it's possible through borderless windowed but I'm pretty sure that gives you input lag

you can try set it in your monitor setting, my monitor has it in Picture advanced menu under Display mode, and i can choose between Full and Aspect
i'm playing on 1920x900 and i havent felt any kind of input lag, just try it (disabling areo might help)

aspect ratio control isn't enabled on the asus vg248qe when I use 1920x800
it's only enabled when using a ratio more square than 16:9 otherwise it's greyed out

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD IT TOOK ME SEVERAL DAYS TO FIGURE IT OUT
the solution is that aspect control/scaling mode was broken in the latest edition of radeon crimson and you have to use the older 15.11 driver to get it to work! now I can have glorious black bars on the top and bottom of my screen when I play tf2
hope anyone else having the same problem finds my solution here
