I've made a post slightly relating to this not too long ago, but the advice I was given really didn't do anything to the obnoxious letter over my crosshair.

As you can see, the crosshair is still present but has another piece covering it, so the problem may not even be related directly to the crosshair. I am also playing on Mac if that has any relation to the problem.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the hud I use is kbnhud, the fonts do not appear correctly but that doesn't bother me as much.

I'm not sure if its the same on a mac, but go to the fonts folder of your hud and install the font files there. Here's how it looks on mine:

If that doesn't work, the i is from an enabled hud crosshair (I believe KBNhud has a circle that flashes red on damage by default) that you can disable in hudlayout.res. Won't fix the font issues, but will remove the i from your screen.

it's a crosshair that's been referenced wrong in clientscheme.res, so it uses the default font instead of whatever "i" is in the crosshair font.
you should just be able to remove it altogether in hudlayout.res. it'll be towards the top with the rest of the crosshairs and have visible set to 1, change it to 0.

Yeah, just either check to make sure that your hud is compatible with mac, and don'r forget to install all of the fonts!
