#8 making dx9 look like dx8 in Customization
bearodactylFor some reason my medibeam dissapears after a couple seconds of healing somebody. Is that because i'm in dx8 or some other config? I usually use the viewmodel_fov 0 so the beam isnt there but when i do have it on it's annoying.

#5 has the solution for that

#169 i52 in TF2 General Discussion
LangeSmithsonian(also as i haven't seen any mention of it in a long time, anyone know how far along the i49 frag vid is?)
It's still being held up by broken demo playback. Valve have finally started working on it, but as of right now there are still show-stopping animation bugs that have to be fixed first.

I remember a very long time ago I used an older version of TF2 to play back demos, is there a chance that method still works?

#1 Selling some brand new PC stuff in Hardware

Hey guys,

Was going to build a small PC that i could take to friend's houses and stuff, but I decided to downsize my main PC, so I have a bunch of brand new parts that I don't need and can't return.

I'm located in Toronto, ON, Canada if you're local, and if not I can ship to Canada and the US pretty easily through Canada Post.

Stuff I have (Everything is new in the packaging, nothing has been registered for warranty or anything):

-Noctua L9i Silent Low-Profile CPU Cooler Asking 30$ + Shipping if applicable

-Asus Direct CU Mini GTX 670 Asking 250 + Shipping if applicable

-Seasonic 80+ Platinum Fully Modular FANLESS 400w PSU Asking 100$ + Shipping if applicable

This stuff is all easy to google and find out more information about, I can take a timestamped pic if you're interested in something.

I'm open to any offers within reason, especially if you're interested in more than one thing and/or you're close to me.

Just PM me on TFTV, add me on steam, or post in the thread if you have any questions or you're interested in something.

#6 Coolermaster Hyper 212 question in Hardware
yankeeyeah, i'm talking about the backplate. even without the stickers there's a layer of a felt-like material between the mobo and metal backplate, but i was able to get that felt covered by the stickers. i double checked after attaching the backplate and the orientation of them seemed like it was perfect, but i was worried that maybe something would still go wrong.

Yeah, if you put the insulating material back on the way it came, you'll be fine. Nothing bad can happen if no metal from the backplate is touching the motherboard.

#4 Coolermaster Hyper 212 question in Hardware
yankeeso i'm a complete fucking idiot and removed the insulating tape from the backplate of my evo. after reading the manual and realizing how dumb i am, i was able to reattach the tape and aligned it so that it was essentially in the same place it would have been otherwise. is this alright? i haven't installed windows yet, but i'm getting post and everything seems alright.

If you're referring to the covering on the point where the heatpipes touch the face of the CPU, you're supposed to take that off.

If you're referring to the backplate, if you put it back on, and no metal is touching the mobo, you're good to go :)

Listen to podcasts, listen to music and/or read, play a game like pokemon or monster hunter, watch movies/tv/animu. I'm sure I could think of, that's just off the top of my head.

#265 The 120Hz Monitor Thread in Hardware
kivesperseQuik question. I have benq xl2411t 144hz monitor and I play tf2 at 1024x768 and quake at 800x600 resolution. Do I need to make custom resolution things in order to get 144hz because I dont play at native res.

I don't think so

#11 CEVO S4 Registration Open in News
LangePlatypusIs the anti-cheat windows only?
Correct. Right now the percentage of CEVO players using non-Windows systems is so low that they can't justify the cost of developing for other platforms. If you are a Mac user and would like to have a Mac client, then try to rally up the other Mac users in the community and let CEVO know that you'd like to see Mac support.

I'm a linux user, it's a little disapointing, but I haven't really been playing TF2 recently, i was just asking out of curiousity.
