Avast5th-ElementHonestly, by now we should not be surprise Valve is not listening to the feedback we have given them. However, I have three separate theories why this is happening.
1) Valve see's how Match Making has flopped, and they are just trying to kill it. With the goal to return back to a "casual game." Honestly, Match Making is not a true representation of 6v6. This is the most likely theory imo.
2) Valve is killing the game on purpose, while secret beginning to work on TF3. This is a pipe dream and very very very unlikely to happen though.
3) Valve is trolling the competitive community, essentially tell us to shut the fuck up. Seeing as the casual TF2 players see the competitive players as the "neck-beards" of the community (again from the casual player's point of view, not mine).
All these theories are bad.
I completely agree with you, but given Valve bad decision making, I wouldn't be surprised.

Huckyea it's a shame that we can't watch video games. why can't they ignore a family emergency so we can watch video games good job tftv
I don't think people are saying shame on that. More so on the entire situation of the lack of LAN, and the fucktard who ruined the first game, which made the current situation possible. Of course when it comes to a family emergency, you should obviously chose family over TF2.
This all could of been avoided with LAN
