snowblindfrogDon't make your situation sound like it's even remotely similar. You had mercs that were denied by the other team and you refused to make them leave the server and the other team took a forfeit win after you wasted 30 minutes of their time and ours.
It's all cool, snowblindfrog. My team made it to the Asian Finals this season.
We have been very careful to follow the rules this season. No drama this time in Asia.
snowblindfrogWe expect Platinum teams to set an example of fairness and good sportsmanship and not to force an outcome through being a rules lawyer. Would I have done this in a regular season match in Iron? Probably not. But this is the playoffs.
Last year in the UGC Asian Division my team was forced to forfeit the Semifinals on a time-based technicality (a few members of our roster came late). UGC had no problems with enforcing time-based rules to the letter then.
UGC allowed the forfeit even though it meant the other team (Anyhow Only) would proceed to the Grand Final by only playing 1 Playoff match (they had already won by forfeit in a previous Playoff match).
Even though my team were sorely disappointed, we accepted UGC's decision because it was the rules.
I know the Asian division isn't as widely followed or respected as NA Platinum., but I suggest UGC employ the same level of strictness irrespective of region.

That's the regular season right? What I meant was we were using TWO mercs (Nasty,Rubiks) for our Semifinals. The rest were from our regular roster, no new mercs were used.
It's our fault for not clarifying the mercs we would use. So when Hunter asked Chrissy to get our regular roster, he agreed. But Hunter pulled a dick move by pretending to wait for our roster to arrive, then silently quitting the server without allowing us to start with 8.
And the 30 minutes you guys keep talking about, it was more like 15 minutes since not all of you arrived at 9 sharp and you left before 9:30PM.
In the end no matter whose side is wrong it doesn't change the fact that Bless played 3 Playoff matches to get to the Finals, while Anyhow Only only played 1.

Yes, they knew we had mercs during our regular season match with them. I'm not sure why they ignored it then. Maybe it was because Anyhow Only came late that match.

Let me try to settle this once and for all...
Daddys Home was using the same roster they used to beat Anyhow Only during the regular season. Anyhow Only had no complaints then, so Daddys Home assumed (incorrectly) that there would be no issue this time either.
Daddys Home (my team) fucked up with the logistics by not confirming this, but we assumed that since we practically knew everybody in Anyhow Only since we pugged/pubbed regularly that we could sort things out amicably and gameplay could still continue.
Well obviously we all know that did not happen and now a few friendships have been strained.
I've personally put this match behind me (hell, it's only a game about hats after all). We'll just see what happens next season if we play each other again.
Must be nice for Anyhow Only... getting into the Finals by playing only 1 Playoffs match.
