ThoxoI'm looking at creating a caster tool to essentially look at stats in real time. Normally, I would use TF2's built in log function over UDP via the logaddress_add command in console, but this would provide real-time data (no delay like STV), which might be frowned upon, and requires RCON access, which is impossible for most casters (especially in upper levels). To counter these problems, I think the log would have to be initiated on a STV relay, but I'm not sure they even have those capabilities.
Does anybody have any idea if the mentioned commands work on an STV relay? I would try myself, but only have access to a local server and that has lead to some strange situations when attempting to figure out where the data is actually coming from.
I built a system for live stats for matches based on logaddress. All EU teams have been very helpful with running the command to enable them, or even giving the rcon so we can do it ourselves.
You rightly say that these stats aren't delayed, so my system automatically delays them 90 seconds so they sync up with STV.
There's even a feed for the streamer that has 70 seconds delay, so that the streamer can catch every uber drop, headshot and backstab.
If I recall correctly, using logaddress on a relay doesn't get you the logs of the match being relayed.
Gratz on the new release TF2Pickup team! It's good for TF2Center to have some competition again and I really like that you're trying to get a higher skill level in your games.
I had a thread about the North American system a while back, but thought one about serveme.tf in general would be nice to keep you all up to date.
So if you haven't tried using serveme.tf yet and you're from North America, go to na.serveme.tf. There are 9 free servers to use and 1 just for donators. All of them are provided by tragicservers.com, that sponsorship is the reason there is a North American system at all, so I'm very grateful.
If you're from Europe you can go to serveme.tf. There are 19 free servers and 28 just for donators. All of those servers are provided by community members with spare capacity on their dedicated servers.
All of the servers in the system have these maps installed and available for fast download. I think most, if not all league configs are installed (miss any configs or maps? leave a comment).
You can use these servers for basically anything except pub/mvm. So practicing rollouts, mixes, lobbies, scrims, officials, tournaments and even ZOWIE invitational cups
So here's what's special about serveme.tf:
- Free to use (source code is free as well)
- Many locations, so you'll always find a good ping
- Automatic zip with the logs and STV demos of your reservation
I'd love to hear any comments and suggestions you might have to improve the system.
KanecoNeed some clarification on the "Avg time before healing", does it only count from when you spawn until you heal the first time or does that also count every time in a teamfight or something that you're not healing anyone?
Check the spec for logs.tf that was implemented by AnAkIn (tftrue) and F2 for your answer: https://github.com/zooob/logstf-spec/tree/master
It's the time until first heal after spawn
Thanks for 5 great years etf2l. Rip in pieces.
Even though the monitor accepts a 75Hz refresh rate, it's probably updating the screen only 60 times per second, which would lead to the problems you're describing.
MrPoT4tOThe sudden drops mean the stream went down?
I was the streamer for VanillaTV, my connection to the Twitch ingest server died twice. I was still on Mumble and in-game so must have been something between me and Twitch Frankfurt. Will have to try another ingest next cast I guess.

As seen on (Vanilla)TV at i49 :P
BoneSWell that is not entirely true mate, I did ask for something in return :P A place to sleep
Need some more towels on that floor sir?
It was awesome working with you Lange. We just fed you STVs and stream cheat links, and all the rest was done perfectly by you, all day without complaint. I regret not being able to talk to you more outside of the casts, because they took up most of both our days :D
Better link the i49 playlist, since that is in the right order: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpG31vHmUyI&list=SPayp9cpOkRhMHu3m85VpkhUm1lLad9wCj

A big thanks to Arie for having the balls to let me and Coleman do this. I'm sure he 100% didn't regret it afterwards.
one of the best parts of the lan
he should've let you cast the finals on an alternate stream
I was about to offer that to Shintaz when I realized I'd rather just watch 1 match, the grand finals, and not (help) run a stream for once this entire event.
Anyway, they should just do a cast based on STV :D
