thanks for everyone I saw for making my first LAN really fun and enjoyable (even if I am now bedridden with LAN flu), especially KAOi, Grenja, Pandahhh, Koston, Callum, Rennui, Kronis, Hysteria, DigitalTomato, GrimsbyDan, Lux, Squirrel, Kermit and Dying Tom! And then all the people I briefly met like ever_x, counou, ceejaey, mop, yeehaw, marten, eepily, samiface and more (my memory is terrible). Sorry for not coming to say hi to more people I was just feeling a bit shy lol but love you all, shout outs to all the casters and production staff too !

In an ideal world, players would play for the fun of playing, even with knowing of better teams participating. But I dunno if people wanna give up every sunday afternoon of a month without much incentive when they could just go pug or mix. This is just based on my personal experience but I don't really think anyone's that bothered about 'prestigous medals' in TF2 much when you can just go roster ride and collect them... Giving them out won't noticeably devalue the medal because it probably won't have that much value to begin with.

Still, I hope this goes well and has a great turnout, then hopefully ESL will give us an actual League with a prizepool..

My keyboard keys do the same thing and I've never really even noticed it until this thread. Had this thing for like 4 years and I type a LOT, even spilled entire cups of coffee on it, dropped it out of bags onto hard floors etc, still works like a charm (results may vary). So I wouldn't call it 'flimsy' at all, just something to get used to. Though, if you don't like the feel of it that's understandable, might be distracting for some.

I had this problem as well. I tried two things to fix it, not sure which one worked, but I can now play Valve servers.

First potential fix was to add the following line to my launch options: +clientport 27006-27014
Which I assume just helps with any routing issues, not sure on the technicality behind it as I just tried it from an old forum post.

Second potential fix I did was to go into my Windows Firewall settings and create a new rule to make sure that hl2.exe was allowed through. (Considering you already tried disabling the Firewall this might not do anything.)

After doing both of these, I booted up TF2 and was able to join a Valve server
