Yimiwow I'm so fucking disappointed in kev, like I really believed him and stood by him as a friend during the hackusations, but he was lying to all of us and now he screwed over our entire HL team. Not fucking cool.

Bad Kev was playing in Power Pugs when he got VAC'd tonight. After he collected himself he came back into the mumble and started acting like the confused victim of a false VAC.
"Honestly, I just don't know what to do."
Shitheads, man.
The killsound does not trigger if a player craters/suicide. This is probably related to the fact that the killsound is for some reason linked to doing damage yourself, and for this reason is also pitched up or down with hitsound (using tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg, etc.). The killsound should be linked to the killfeed. This would fix the pitch issues and (sadly) fix the dead-ringer not playing, too.
I know nothing about game design, but if a sound can be triggered using the killfeed, (e.g., for dominations and revenges), I don't know why they wouldn't start with that.
edit: also, my gamesound is now playing while alt-tabbed...
http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=13542We've found that TF2 works best when classes and players support each other, making up for weaknesses and combining into new strengths, rather than giving any one class more and more tools to solve all potential problems.
ss With most unlocks banned there's really no point in weapon pick-ups.
Even with just stock weapons, the weapon pick-up is an interesting mechanic.
Ubercharge and clip ammo are preserved in dropped weapons. You can also pick up a dropped medigun while ubercharged and it will stop your ubercharge, and allow you to build from whatever percentage you had when you picked up.
I'm excited about a pub, wow.
yttriumthe following non-stock items will be allowed:
Crossbow?
yttriumDamage spread, bullet spread, and random crits will all be disabled.
It was decided in like 2009 that damage/bullet spread and random crits exist to make the game fun for people who can't aim. If I remember correctly the tf2pug.me MGE server briefly had random bullet spread and it was unbearable. Glad to hear this.
Also, goldrush is literally just pl_dustbowl. Like if I made goldrush and tried to sell it I would get sued by the makers of dustbowl.
You should consider enabling weapon pick-ups. I haven't seen them break any pubs as much as they break other modes like ultiduo. There are some pretty cheeky things you can do with weapon pick-ups in the spirit of pubs.
Reasonable class limits on some classes would be great. 3 sentries on badwater roof and 2 sentries on the ground below it is the worst kind of TF2. It's just first person Age of Empires.
But is it too late to save pro TF2 from esports obscurity? Will Valve have to destroy the pro game in order to save it?
what's the going rate for a professional tf2 player these days
MattCVAlso saying "financial hardships" doesn't really cut it, if you are struggling to make ends meet the last thing you should be doing is buying a new PC or trying to go abroad, how about spending that time into looking for a job.
Please I am poor; I need donations so I can play TF2 50 hours/week.
the frequent crash problem should be fixed
Played with Tycho/Thundah in a lobby today: http://logs.tf/938320?highlight=76561198116882356
I don't think he was hacking today, but I thought he was banned from TF2Center until 2025?

Tycho hasn't been a problem for a while now.
His first lobby back after that ban was June 17. Meanwhile, Yuri was banned on June 16.
tatuwahalso
dollarlayerWell it turns out that yrui ban was the result of a ban error where the ban length was set for 1 month, instead of a full length 10 year cheater ban. I'm told that the full length 10 year ban has been reinstated.
12:40 AM - yuri: i was banned
12:40 AM - yuri: on the 16th of june
interesting
Coincidence? I think so. But I almost got my tin-foil hat out.

All of that localization file updating was worth it.
More toggling from gr:m... with the name "curving bullets" LOL.

I asked a friend of mine about this guy possibly hacking and immediately got flak from our mutual friends, and even got an invite to the group "get good soon" from one of his friends whom I have never met, which just makes it more obvious that he is hacking.
Here's a clip from a tf2center lobby:

Highlight is at 13-16 seconds. Bullets cluster on players who are on the other side of the stairs: 3 shots of minigun clumps which even split to cover the not-visible players. Oops.

Can someone who isn't friends with grim or jared please help here? This post got 5 minus frags in 30 minutes, and my first follow-up got 6 in 15 minutes. I'll gladly take a minus frag from someone who isn't linked to these guys:

The same person who is claiming this person is hacking is claiming I am hacking as well. I expect to see a post on it soon. Regardless, this player is not hacking. The bullet "clumps" are from bad registration because this is a video from an stv at like 5% speed.
You're looking at the laggy bullet registration from a mouse flick over about a half of a second in real time. If there were any other proof at all besides this one coincidence you would have it and this is nothing. Bullets come out in clumps whenever he shoots his minigun at all, and the only reason you find this suspicious is because it happens to sort of line up with some players through a wall but this isn't hacking at all.
Didn't even include a view with wireframes?!
DarkNecridMost of our team that game would not agree with you at all (I was the Sniper on the team opposite of Grim). Grim isn't someone I'm the most fond of but he was not remotely suspicious that game and honestly saying he was hacking just seems ludicrous to me. He was pocketed which normally wouldn't work but our team was lacking in a few areas and played the map poorly in comparison to their team which gave him a lot of free reign on us that he should not of have.
ohaiderelol grim hacking, i guess now we'll just call anyone a cheater now
jaredthe only reason you find this suspicious is because it happens to sort of line up with some players through a wall
Yes.
jaredDidn't even include a view with wireframes?!
They would have occluded the bulletholes. Feel free to run it with r_drawothermodels 2 to convince yourself. That's what you should be doing instead of appealing to "laggy bullet registration." You should watch the whole stv. This was just the most damning evidence.
