MoritoArieHow did you match the demos.tf URL with the logs.tf log?

Asking for a friend.

It takes a players played and match date and cross references the API's.

This won't work in cases where logs are combined. See https://more.tf/log/3313279

Also the search at the top of the page when on a log page doesn't work. It looks like the anchor tag for the go button just links to the same page? Might just be a placeholder and it doesn't update when you change the text box though.

Overall though, very nice website. Great UI

raini think you should just list them by kills/minute instead of just total kills due to marathon matches ending up with the most kills then

Yeah my team and I were talking about this earlier, about how stats in isolation are kinda useless because they're so context dependent. Turnip was saying that it would be awesome to have stuff like kills per uber, last push success %, sac success %, etc. Listing the kills was mainly just for fun and doesn't mean anything, except for the fireball deaths. Mans a feeder o_o

Hi all, now that the regular season is wrapped up, I wanted to post https://braceyourshelf.github.io/TF2-Player-Stats/ again since it has (hopefully) all the matches from the season compiled. I plan on continuing this for playoffs, but I'll make a separate list/table so we can see who is performing well in specifically playoffs.

As for the regular season, let's take a look at some of the stats.

Combo Scouts

In the kills department, we had some leaders:
Holly (WANG gang) - 524 Kills
ZoomZe (nug hub) - 508
anna (Cat Noises Black) - 478

Notably, both Cat Noises and nug hub missed playoffs, so I guess a scout carry can only do so much! Of course, generally the scouts with more playtime on scout had more skills (crazy how that works), so it's also good to look at the K/30m stat, but I'll leave it up to you guys to figure out how you want to filter playtime when looking in that column (Since who cares about people that only played scout for 3 minutes)

Flank Scout

Kills
Tec (WANG gang) - 473
kots (PERUTECH_v2) - 408
trees (bungalow alert!) - 392

Most notably here is Tec, who has a giant lead over the next flank scouts. With WANG gang's scouts both at the top of their prospective lists, you have to wonder how they'll do in playoffs. Is it the scouts cleaning up on the rest of the team's damage or are these scouts just that good? Regardless, shutting down the scouts will be key to any team playing against them.

Pocket Soldier

Kills
b0nes (WANG gang) - 354
gabby (Cat Noises Black) - 333
mild (The Bunion Project) - 330

The pockets don't have any big standouts. Notably another WANG gang player is at the top of the list. Another thing to note is K/D wise, the only soldier on this list who is positive is mild, who has 314 deaths. So he has more kills than deaths, but only barely. It's always hard to analyze a pocket soldier's impact through stats alone ("Trust me, I made space!", but regardless, b0nes and mild will be pockets to watch out for during playoffs.

Roamer Soldier

Kills
Fireball (WANG gang) - 365
_S (PERUTECH_v2) - 356
Nootstook (bungalow alert!) - 344

All 3 of these players made playoffs, with the standout being Fireball who leads all soldiers in deaths with 511. For reference, the next highest deaths, Nootstook, has 427 deaths. Another thing to note is that all three of these teams align with the flank scout list. So it isn't just any one flank player carrying. These flanks have synergy, and work off each other very well.

Demoman

Kills
Dogdayboy (WANG gang) - 408
Andrew (bungalow alert!) - 342
Lt. Lemons (image) - 313

Standout here is Dogdayboy with a pretty sizeable lead over his fellow demolition experts. With yet another WANG gang player at the top, you have to wonder how it's even possible that they have this many kills. Wouldn't they just get kills, and win rounds? With this many kills, it's clear that they have a problem converting kills into rounds. Andrew and Lt. Lemons both have the highest delta damage (DPM - DTM) out of all the demos this season, with 104.75 and 94.45, respectively. Dealing damage, and not taking damage is everything you could ask for in a demoman! Don't count Dogdayboy out though, as he's not far behind in 4th place with 87.94 delta damage.

Medic

For medic, there's a bunch of stats you can look at, so let's do this part differently and just take the winners from each of the fun categories.

Most Deaths - mattylight (coconut oil meatshots) - 231
Least Deaths / 30m - tree (The Kyle Flett Show) - 6.51
Most Ubers - Aifx (WANG gang) - 272
Most Drops - DubThink (Cat Noises Black) - 22
Highest Heals Per Minute - CH4RIOT (The Bunion Project) - 1178.11
DTM - dinko (Bulk Detonator State Of Mind) - 110.13

For medics, it's hard to find standouts, since so much of medic is dependent on team play style. Some medics play more aggressive than others, and some play more passive. So take a look at the various medic stats because they can be pretty interesting (certainly more so than just looking at k/d and damage!), but of course as a medic player, I'm biased.

Apologies for the wall of text, but it's fun to theory craft why certain teams are good, and why they have the stats they do. Hopefully you enjoyed!

https://braceyourshelf.github.io/TF2-Player-Stats/

I made a website that tracks player stats across multiple matches. The match log collection is manual, but I'll do my best to keep it updated. Right now it has data from the first two weeks of the season, but I'll update week 3 after tonight's matches. Also it helps me if people combine logs for matches and give them a nice name on logs.tf like "RGL Main W3B" or something similar. Let me know if you spot any problems, and enjoy.

One minor note - The DTM doesn't factor in the time you were on the class, but rather the entire match, so if you play heavy for like 30 seconds, that's why the numbers would look weird. Should be mostly accurate for scout/soldier/demo/med, but will be less accurate the more people offclass

edit: week 3 matches added

Prime-Sanitytook matters into my own hands.
Also what match today are you guys excited for?

Honestly first week, I feel like all the matches are exciting. It’s always interesting to see how preseason predictions play out, especially when you have limited knowledge of the teams early on

millieI will try to figure out how to decode the text after scrims tonight...

I was trying to do this, but gave up. Seems like it's just a series of characters in different languages, but I can't make any connections.
ᢻພ_ज़ﻓѦЧ_ੳ is the first little bit of the first image. Used https://shapecatcher.com/ for those, but it doesn't support Japanese, Korean, or Chinese.

https://chineseinput.net/handwriting.html is useful for the Chinese, but this is as far as I got.

#9 Announcing DemoMan, the TF2 demo manager in Projects

Cool project, a few things:

* When I have the demo list sorted (for example, by events), then click on a demo, then go back, it ends up being unsorted. Having consistency here would be nice.
* Ability to sort by date would be cool (for example, if I want demos from a specific season)
* Ability to sort by class would be nice, but I'm not really sure how possible this is

Other than that, it's pretty useful for quickly sifting through a bunch of demos to find which ones have events

Wild_Rumpuswould love to hear about what people thought of and adapted to major changes like sticky nerf, medic scout speed, crossbow changes, gunboats etc

And sort of adding on to this, just generally how players adapted to changing metas. Nowadays things are stagnant for the most part and “figured out”, but we definitely play different tf2 than what happened back in the day. I’m curious about the ideas that brought us to this point

#25 Uber tracking with dyscalculia? in TF2 General Discussion
RendoasI can add 20s to 30s because I know that 5 + 3 = 8, but if I have to add 20s to 55s and have to think about the sum rolling over into the next minute--but wait I'm supposed to subtract a minute--but I'm in the next minute now--I can't get my brain to work fast enough. I know this is objectively simple, I just cannot do it quickly. I probably could if I had a pencil and paper to write it down and look at it for a bit.

I'm not 100% sure about how dyscalculia works, but what if you think of it not as addition/subtraction, but rather memorization? Using hooli's method, you would be adding the same 20 to every situation. So instead of thinking on the fly what is 30 + 20, you could make flashcards to memorize 00 + 20, 10 + 20, etc. That way, when you see 25 seconds on the clock, you have the 2 already associated -> 4, and then the ones place stays the same, so 45.

Beyond that, a lot of tracking ubers is a vibes thing. You know at the beginning of a push that you have a certain amount of ad (because you were at 70% when their medic spawned, for example). Then, since it's big ad, you decide to milk the uber. Then after you get that point, you ask yourself "was that a slow push, or did we go fast?", and from there, you can make an educated guess on if it's still ad or not. As you get better, your mental clock on knowing how fast you're going will get better and more specific. Then you can incorporate other factors, such as where the enemy team is positioned, if you've been building well, spotting the enemy medic's uber with the solemn vow, etc). Make it a habit to ask yourself the question "What are ubers?" and then you don't miss any details. And at the end of the day, everyone on your team should be able to track uber at least to some extent, so talk with your teammates (i.e. "Do we still think it's ad?") and decide from there.
