hi so for about the past month, i have been experiencing issues with sniper shots registering on players, either shots clearly on a persons head or body not counting at all, i have triend changing my interp MANY times but none will have good hitreg outside of casual, i have found out that a reccomended ratio 2 interp .030303 does not work for me and nothing on ratio 2 has. im really struggling on what i should do because i want to be able to try and snipe again.

SetsulThere is nothing to fix.
Interp_ratio 1.4 means an interpolation time of 1.4 packet intervals. Because a packet might be a late a value slightly above 1 guarantees that there will always be a packet to interpolate with.
14.2ms interp on a 15ms/66 tickrate server means unless a packet somehow arrives early there will always be a small window where TF2 must extrapolate instead.
TF2 always uses the higher value out of ratio/updaterate and flat interp.
If you want to do it properly set cl_interp_ratio to 0.95 because that's what you're doing.
If you want to lie to yourself that this isn't stupid or need to bypass the sv_client_min_interp_ratio 1, which is set to stop you from doing stupid shit you need to lie to the server and set cl_updaterate 70 (even though a server that runs at 66.6666 ticks per second will never be able to send you 70 updates per second) because 1/70 = 0.0142857 so that's the interp TF2 will use even though it's bullshit.
FYI orange = effective ratio less than 2
yellow = lerp lower than server framerate
Also curious why you'd think movement scripts would affect interp.
i just decided to put my full autoexec in there, when i change my interp ratio it says my interp is .014925, idk what im doing so i added you for furthur help. also as a followup question, what interp or interp ratio would you reccomend that i use?
hello, my friend has been trying to help me get 14.2 ler in game (and be white, not orange or yellow) but we cannot figure it out.
// Balance Network settings
cl_interp 0.0142
cl_interp_ratio 1.4
cl_updaterate 67
cl_cmdrate 67

those are the net settings i am using and it gives me 20.9 lerp in game which is orange, what should i fix?
_brianmost of the time players using both are sponsored by the headphone company, but are using earbuds to actually play because they're better than the headphones they're sponsored by
but is it possible to get game sounds from headphones and comms from headset?
yo so i recently was looking at some csgo videos and noticed that players used earbuds and headphones while playing, is there any way i coujld do this for tf2 and how would i set it up (im not that tech smart so if the answer is obvious please just let me know)
Console-Blobfishsorry guys, i actually use wireless ethernet, sorry for the confusionNot really sure what you mean by "wireless ethernet"? The closest thing I can think of is powerwire, which allows you to use your home's electrical circuit to send data over a wall plug adapter. In my personal experience this only really combats signal strength issues from long distances/different floors of a house, and depends very very heavily on the age and quality of the electrical wiring within your home.
I would most highly recommend using an Ethernet connected directly from your router to your PC; this will give you the most reliable connection in terms of any signal loss or degradation resulting in dropped packets or increased ping. If this is not an option, either powerwire (as described earlier) or WiFi are unfortunately your next best go-tos. Something that can improve your wireless experience is using a WiFi band analyser (most can be found as apps for free on IOS/Android) and changing your router's WiFi bands to the least congested channel, as many will just stay at factory default and interfere with the many other people either unaware or too lazy to change it.
Hey thanks for the response man, really appreciate it. The wireless Ethernet thing was a joke btw
sorry guys, i actually use wireless ethernet, sorry for the confusion
yo so i have wireless wifi and i have been having some issues with it. random lag spikes/random ping increases, sniper shots that look like its on a emeny's head miss (also sometimes flickshots dont register), and alot of stuff seems like its delayed sometimes. would it benefit me to use ethernet from my router and if so, what are the benefits from ethernet vs wireless?
its interp's fault
Looking to get better at sniper for some sick frags, would appreciate some help :)
Thanks for the replies guys, I’ll test a couple out and see which one works for me
