So for a few years I've had a Flickr page with a LOT of my artwork on it. Its gotten a lot of views, and for a small duration of time I havent been uploading anything to it. I originally setup the account through my facebook page. During the time of my neglect they switched 100% over to yahoo, making you apparently setup a yahoo ID. Now, I dont recall making one, or being asked to make one. So now I'm unable to login.
My emergency email connected to the account only unlocks some old flickr I never used. So I was left with only one option. I looked up Yahoo's customer support number and gave them a call. I explained my situation clearly and slowly to the man who sounded foreign beyond words. He said that the only way to get my account back is to pay. As soon as he said that I was like WHAT? I told him I can prove my identity and link him to the account originally connected to on Facebook. He repeated, you have to pay. I asked how much?! Then he hangs up.
So I call back and because its such a bitch to tell apart the people I'm talking too, I'm upfront with the guy, tell the same exact story and ask for the price. He tells me he wants $150 bucks. I tell him I wasn't even around when they made the switch!! They ditched the way I used to login to Flickr, and I wasn't even asked to make a yahoo account for it.
He hanged up on me again. So now I don't know what to do. Any advice? I have a lot of original artwork on that page, and it has a good amount of views, its something I would like to keep and have control of. Hell I would like to keep uploading to it.
So my only option is to pay this money, and I just cant believe I have to do that
