Ragecl_new_impact_effects is set to 0 and viewmodel_fov is set to 90
I still crash sometimes when using hitscan. help
have you tried r_drawtracers_firstperson 0?
DaStabahSo... My g400s died today. Both mouse buttons stopped working, pretty sure it shorted b/c when I went inside and pressed the switches manually, it still wouldn't click.
Any suggestions for mice? The OP seems to have disappeared
edit: I'm a palm grip
if you liked your G400S, then: G400 / G400S / G402 / G502
otherwise slemnish his suggestion could be good. you should check it out :)
yeah drawn child porn is so healthy pankeyman
i've always loved Mr. Freeze / Dr. Victor Fries
artichokeHopefully they thought about being able to hide medibeam and/or flamethrower particles with the new valid values of viewmodel_fov/cvar.
you could consider removing all flamethrower particles.
i tried it out myself, and i'm gonna stick to it.
flamethrowers, besides the actual particles, show another effect coming from the nose.
and of course there's also the sound. so, even with flamethrower particles disabled, you'll still see/hear when pyros are firing.
and a big bonus (for me, at least) is that i can now always clearly see pyros, because their flames aren't in the way.
i used to miss alot of my shots on w+m1 pyros because of their flames, but no more!
it also removes the fire you see when players are on fire. but it doesn't matter, because players always glow their team-colour when on fire, so you'll still see it when someone's on fire.
SlightI'd sell a liver to see Yuki fuck shit up at snakewater again.
:c
sheep on sniper wasn't too shabby either
Mr_Owlturn on tracers
right.
your viewmodel_fov is probably set to 0, or very low or very high like -360 or 360. set it to a normal value, and it should be fixed.
some patch messed up the viewmodel_fov command.
-protoFix all players and props becoming invisible when viewmodel_fov is set to -360/360 after a short period of time.
Fix tracers not being disabled/game crashing with viewmodel_fov set to 0.
This is probably not a big deal for many, but people who played without tracers and viewmodels for years are getting fucked over right now.
+1
i've disabled tracers through editing the .vmt file.
unfortunately, this kills all tracers (including enemies').
so, if viewmodel_fov was fixed, i'd go back to that method instantly.
viewmodel_fov could also disable impact sparks in the past (when set to 0, i believe), this also is not possible anymore.
luckily, these can also be disabled by editing a .vmt file.
i also agree with defaulting servers to no random crits and no random damage/weapon spread.
i remember playing tf2 for the first time, not understanding why these crits were sometimes happening.
quite disappointed when i found out they can just happen at random, with most weapon
i really doubt anyone will miss random crits if they were removed, and i would bet that more players want them disabled than there are players that want them to stay enabled by default.
for a second there i thought you'd replied to yourself..
JarateKingIt doesn't improve fps but you can disable those particle effects on sv_pure 2 by editing the materials' vmt files and adding the "$no_draw" "1" parameter. Clean TF2 already gets rid of impact sparks and simplifies rocket trails and explosions by doing this, and it wouldn't be difficult to fully get rid of all of them.
thanks for the response :)
didn't even know that clean_tf2 removed stuff like that. i'll try it out!
edit: man, i wish i'd known earlier. i think i've tried editing the pcf files before, but i couldn't get it working on sv_pure (or at all - can't remember). i never knew vmt files were so easy to edit.
no rocket trails is so nice, especially with the original.
and finally no tracers or impact sparks anymore! :>
it's also quite nice when there's no rubble or sparks @ explosions.
cheers
you sexy
too bad pure doesn't allow (but what's new).
i wish valve was less strict on visuals,
because alot of stuff really distracts me. things like impact sparks, rocket smoke trails, tracers, explosion particles...
stuff like that tends to overload my brain/senses for some reason, and i have to put in proper effort to "see past" it.
anyway; cheers! :>
