I had forgotten about backups, would obviously be a good idea. Have nothing to backup onto for the moment.
24" should be quite sufficient.

Top of my head, not sure how it will run on release but I will be losing days of my life to Mass Effect 4.
Overclocking isn't a requirement now, but I may be tempted to. Wishy washy as heck, but for the forseeable future no intent to.
The HDDs are only broken into two because I'm a neurotic little shit when it comes to my organizational systems. Multiple may effect write speeds as well as budget?
Leaning towards IPS given my lack of high intensity games. Could always pick up a 144hz later and shift the IPS into the place of the current planned side monitor (functional, free, but old)
Not sure on the i7 either, since it's not video editing or anything. Really brief googling might indicate it may make a noticeable difference?
... Paging Dr. Setsul?
Not being very knowledgeable as far as all of this goes, looking for some suggestions.
Budget top end - $1200 (including monitor)
I'm not looking to run anything higher than 1080p for the forseeable future, so there's a lot of leeway in the graphics department. What I know I'll be after is 1 SSD for the OS, and 2 HDDs (one or both 2TB), as well as an optical drive. I'll also be using it for some amount of audio production/editing more than likely.
As for the monitor, I'm open to suggestions. A few years ago I'd be dead set on 144hz, but I don't do much gaming these days.
If I've left any essential information out, cuss me out.
Any pointers majorly appreciated.
-protodo those people still exist
The current chairman of the US Senate's Committee on Environment and Public Works is one of them. He brought a snowball and chucked it on the floor as his evidence that global warming is a myth.
“In case we have forgotten, because we keep hearing that 2014 has been the warmest year on record, I ask the chair, you know what this is? It’s a snowball. And that’s just from outside here. So it’s very, very cold out.” - Jim Inhofe
I repeat, this man is the chairman of the Senate's Environment and Public Works Committee... and his argument against the reality of global warming is roughly similar to saying global hunger doesn't exist because he just had lunch.
If you have a concern about a medication, your well-being, any of that; see a doctor, not a gaming forum.
Speaking of... I am in no way a medical professional, I can only speak from my experience. I was suggested and prescribed concerta for what is now referred to as ADHD, I rather quickly decided to drop it (for personal reasons, not those of effect).
My issues resurfaced for several years until (around the entrance to higher education) I realized that if I wanted to function I had to consciously mold my behaviors in a way that was conducive to... getting shit done. It took some consideration (and on a few occasions being cussed out) but logical steps led to a system that works for me (and has become second nature). Understanding where your problems reside is key, but you have to follow that up by addressing them (accepting them doesn't get help anything).
Finding a solution could be as straightforward as going to a doctor, and deciding to begin with a medication prescribed, something more akin to my methods, who knows... hell you're not me. It varies from person to person, but I've never known anybody to really benefit from the "cures" that advertise themselves without educated, medical support.
Not trying to shoot anyone down, just an urging of some caution.
Those that I really enjoyed.
- Bastion, gorgeous isometric game narrated by the voice of god (only more whimsical). Genuinely enjoyable, with a fantastic soundtrack done by Darren Korb. (picked up Transistor, looking forward to getting started on it once I get a chance)
- The Banner Saga, still in progress, but this game makes me regret decisions more than real life... Beautifully drawn/animated as well.
- The Mass Effect series are all favorites of mine, the gameplay in the original is clunky but 2 and 3 are a lot smoother. The DLCs add a lot to 2 and 3 (though that isn't to say I retained any moral high ground in obtaining them). They're a heck of a ride, enough that I get misty and nostalgic when I throw on the soundtracks. You'll experience feelings if you're any type of human...
- LIMBO, I enjoyed it but I imagine it may not be to everyone's taste. It's a fairly simple puzzle based concept, almost entirely void of a solid/discernible plot until the very end. It's atmospheric, beautiful, and unforgiving (the OST done by Martin Stig Andersen does a great job at augmenting the creepiness of it all). It doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't either (which earns points with me)
- Obligatory and oft repeated Portal series reference, they're wonderful games that combine a sardonic dark, humor with a pretty neat puzzle mechanic.
- Saints Row 3 coop with a friend is... Some of the most hilarious and enjoyable gametime I've ever partaken of (allows you to work on the campaign with a friend, it's not like GTA free mode or anything). I mean really, you get to run around wielding a 6 foot long purple dildo... if that doesn't sell you on it I don't know what will.
I also have Kentucky Route Zero, Alien: Isolation, and Papers, Please in my queue of games to play soon. Heard/seen some pretty great things about all three from various sources. Might be worth looking into.
This may be useful, fellow moving his OS from an SSD to HDD

Should work for desktop as well of course, though it's worth mentioning that it takes some extra hardware you probably don't have.
TwistedWhere can I get this/these rainmeter skins?
I use them (an older version I believe though) as well, Simply Nova Skin

was banned from all of their servers for using an "aimbot" on 2fort all my friends played there T^T ..so i started playing on skial/2fort2furious/sourceop
Worth mentioning you were actually snagged in a string of IP bans originating with this account (that was banned for slurs). You connected from a related IP, and sourcebans banned you as an alt of the linked account. No relation to any apparent aimbot.
Aimbots don't get unbanned, accidental IP dupes often do.

Would you happen to be playing on a laptop? Last I checked (when I was experiencing the same problem) OBS' game capture would only output a black screen on them.
Have you tried using window capture?
atmoanybody got a screenshot of the spec model bug?
I snapped it before I heard about the glitch, I was... rather confused.
flameneither is AIDS, just saying.
its definitely not something to ignore. I don't think you realize how easily you could infect hundreds of people just by bringing it to the gym with you.
The onset of symptoms post infection of ebola sticks between 2 and 21 days (admittedly, 3 weeks is a good long period of time), but as that video states it can only be transferred by someone who is experiencing the symptoms of it at the time. If I was dealing with those sorts of symptoms... I'd be heading to the ER, not the gym.
STDs by contrast are more subtle, and more long-standing (in that ebola tends to work quickly... whereas you have a much longer period of time to transmit an STD without knowing it). Citing the Centers for Disease control around 1.1 million people in the US have HIV, a hefty number, but one that has had a long time to grow/stabilize.
All that being said, basic cleanliness/hygiene practices are never something to skimp on anyway.
Not a medical professional, just going by what credible information I've seen/can find.
Not to say that ebola isn't pretty darned horrifying... But it isn't airborne, it's not easily transferred so I doubt you have much to worry about (especially within the established medical system of the US).
