Just practice the placement and timing of the detonation of your first sticky. I haven't had an experience where I couldn't get into place with one stick. Experiment for a while and get used to the various timings and placements, and you should be able to get to where you need to be.
Why do people troll in newbie mixes anyways? That's not even close to the point of them. If you're confident enough to taunt/troll in a newbie mix put on your big girl dress and go play in #tf2mix or pug.na

If you find yourself burnt out and not playing well in the middle of a match or scrim, you can't just go away and take a break however, in this situation you need to try to focus as much as you can on the mental aspect of your game and try not to get upset when your DM fails you.
