vanillaDid you try this line-up out in UGC plat first? Cause if you don't meet with good success there, you definitely won't find any in ESEA.
They did, but got wrecked one game by a mid/high open team. Other than that was pretty decent.
sevenThis team seems very annoying to play against as far as team composition.
I've never been a 'fan' of thief, but there's no denying that he can use the weapon really well. He works mainly in denial and distraction, the fan allowing him to get to more places and dodge rockets. I think the counter to this would be to just ignore him. With only 2 shots (and 1 used mainly to jump/dodge), he'll be outputting much less damage.
I wish people would stop giving them flack about their line-up. Let them play what they want to play. If they can make it work then obviously it works. Let them figure things out for themselves... remember that full-time spy that wanted to pay to play 6s just to try it?

I was their roamer for their team for about 1 1/2 months. THIEF's fan play is great to run in 6's i'm not denying that, I'm just stating that the way his previous team worked, which revolved around a SR demo, didn't work well at all, you could say all you want, but being able to output way more damage with stock launcher is unbelievably useful.

Completely shuts down scouts and flanks, can build one in about a second. Are extremely annoying and slow down the fast CP game.
Thing is, top level teams have tried most of the available strategies anyways. The best class lineup is already 2 soldiers 2 scouts 1 demo + medic because it's been tried time and time again. Pyro just doesn't work because decent scouts will kite him to death, especially on lots of spam infested maps like snakewater at mid.
This just isn't going to work unless you're playing shitties, THIEF is a fine FaN scout, I won't argue that any weapon can be great, but some things just don't work. I.E. scottish resistance demo, full time pyros will never work against higher level teams unless you're playing a very closed koth map like viaduct.
Don't reinvent the metagame, please. I saw how it works and I can say that it will not be pretty for you guys.
