Hey guys, DocdocGoose, Captain of CUBI (low-end UGC Silver HL team, so I donno how much weight this will carry if Bleak's transitioning into 6's.)
I was Bleak's former captain, where he played backup demo/utility for us in HL. First off, I'm going to put out there Bleak's weakness is definitely in his comms. Particularly in a Highlander environment where nine players are communicating all at once, Bleak ended up drowning out some of my players, and would make questionable calls when he wasn't the main caller.
That said, in the 5 or 6 scrims/matches he's played with us, I didn't have an issue with him raging. Didn't have a problem with any "ego" or things about Bleak being an ass. He's a strong personality, but if a Captain sets him in line, he doesn't have a problem with pulling back. Just gotta crack that whip to rein him in, haha. He's excitable and really gets into the game, but I've played with far worse.
Regarding his ability, Bleak, back away from the comms a bit. :P He studies his roll-outs and had decent DM for our level, easily could recommend him a place on ESEA-O. Fast to support teammates, but tendency to tunnel-vision and would call or attempt to push when it wasn't really best to do so. Like I said, if Bleak backs off on the calls and lets others speak up, he'll do fine. He doesn't have an issue with listening and acting on comms. He was originally a 6's player who got onto Highlander to ring for us a couple of times as a friend of a teammate's, and sort of stuck around since. I haven't seen his 6's work, but the background was definitely obvious in the plays that he would make on Highlander, which is a bit of a different environment than he was used to, I'm sure.
Captains, give him a shot. I'd have kept him on my team if I didn't have a full-timer Demo already. If you have any questions about him, hit me up. He'll take some work to discipline, but I don't know who he's been pissing off to get the rap that he is.
