Ok, checking now!
I really wish there was an option to get notified when a PM is received.

#21 Florida Lan 2016 IndieGoGo Fundraiser! in TF2 General Discussion
saamHey Miggy, not sure who you asked about this but I would consider extending the event to two days to be more important than adding prizes. I'm not going to this but if GXL had been a shorter event it would have been harder to justify a 6+ hour drive, especially because prizes only matter to the top two teams. If you've asked around and the consensus was prizes are more important than just ignore me but it's just something to think about.

I was actually planning on pulling a YOLO and making it a two day event if we got close to 3k but not enough to pass the second Goal.

#19 Florida Lan 2016 IndieGoGo Fundraiser! in TF2 General Discussion

In 11 hours we've raised 770, just about 45% of the first goal mark of 1,700.
You guys are amazing.

Just to give you some perspective.
The first two FLan events raised about 800 and 900 respectively over the course of a few months leading up to the event itself. I have the utmost confidence that another few days like this and we'll definitely have this Lan.

I've done HL at a lan center before with plenty of hiccups, but it happened.
This is a BYOC event though and I'll be providing the server as I did at the previous event :)

sola7k is a lot... BYOC HYPE

7k is a "this would be amazing" goal.

1.7k gets us just the lan and a few prizes
4,250 would allow us to have tournament prize pools
7k lets us have 2nd places prizes and turn this 1 day event into a 2 day event

#23 TF2 Pub Hackers in TF2 General Discussion

Double posting because I like to do things that involve "wasting time" and watched the Tipsy demo's that were sent to me a while back.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16036872/Cheaters/Tipsy1.dem
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16036872/Cheaters/Tipsy2.dem

Tipsy1 is a demo from a pub
Tipsy2 is from either a scrim or a match on warmtic last season.

Having watched Tipsy2 first it feels like he would occasionally toggle an aimbot any time he gets frustrated trying to get a kill.
Tipsy1 tells an entirely different story, a dude in a pub who should be in Gold+, but nothing of his game play aside from from the occasional "maybe a bit too good" shots in Tipsy2 supports that.

If he is cheating in Tipsy2 he does it sparingly, possible to avoid detection/suspicion, but in Tipsy1 he could very well be using a triggerbot and possibly smooth aimbot. I'd have to watch it again when I have more time.

If anyone has a more 'blatant' demo than the two linked above I would love to see it.

Would he still be playing in any League I would have gathered the evidence more seriously and sent to admins so they can force him to turn over some POV demo's. But at this point tracking down POV's and STV's from matches 4 months ago would be an actual "waste of time" that not even I would touch.

KonceptLegacyInterestingly enough, my best friend is pretty big into hearthstone. So if that becomes a thing, I'd have something then to convince him to go to some place.

I'll keep you updated on whether or not we decide to go that route.

What Smoby Jones said is correct.
As shown in the log link above and in this .SS link http://sizzlingstats.com/player/76561198027413209
The guy clearly doesn't play comp any more. Taking the time to hunt down POV and STV demo's on this dude would be a waste of time.

shadeWhat area are you looking at for the LAN and do you mind discussing what venue you are proposing? Also will the venue be providing all the set up needed, network cables, power strips, chairs, tables, etc etc?

Also just a thought but adding something like Hearthstone is extremely easy to accommodate since it is on mobile and PC and tends to draw a ton of people interested in playing. Just a consideration to think about.

DoubleTree Hotel & Convention Center in Miami. The room will be about 93.00 ft x 66.00 ft
Venue won't provide any networking equipment. I work in IT and will be providing all that plus the game server(s).
The tables and chairs I can easily rent from a nearby location, they're not too expensive to grab for a day.

Hearthstone sounds like a neat idea, I know next to nothing about it. But if folks want me to add it in I don't see a reason why not if it's as simple to setup as you've said.

shadeWith the figures provided, is that including sets of PC's for people to use or is this assuming every person will BYOC?

What area are you looking at for the LAN and do you mind discussing what venue you are proposing? Also will the venue be providing all the set up needed, network cables, power strips, chairs, tables, etc etc?

The 1.5k is for both the rental of the venue space and the insurance needed for said space should there by an accident on site.
No, that doesn't include PC's.
I was hoping to get a local company (Such as Origin PC) to help out with PC's by letting me borrow a few as they do in their own events. They had 0 interest in sponsoring a TF2 only event, this is the only reason why I felt the need to include CS:GO. If I can find a sponsor willing to let me borrow some rigs for a TF2 only event then great, I'll drop CS:GO in a heartbeat. Alternatively, if everyone is fine being 100% responsible for bringing their own systems then I can work with that too.

I want to include Smash either way as it's a really fun game and having a TV+Console setup doesn't take much space at all.

If anyone has any more questions please feel free to ask and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.
Geel, if you would like to discuss specifics I'll be more than happy to discuss them over PM or Steam so the thread doesn't get cluttered.
