Didn't think there was anything particularly wrong with the final episode in itself but given how underwhelming the entire season was it does feel like the whole show just kind of petered out, going through the motions to hit some necessary but poorly executed story beats and then rounding off in more or less the conclusion everyone was expecting. There wasn't nearly as much emotional involvement for me with the final outcomes of the characters as there should have been given how much I've loved the series until this point because it felt like they all got there through plot armour anyways due to the shoddy writing the rest of the season.

2 significant new changes and I don't hate either of them. Is this even etf2l anymore?
Really nice to have well-polished articles like this to mark important events like these - keep it up!
Varys allowing himself to be caught and killed is like Magnus Carlsen blundering checkmate out of nowhere. Varys had the political intelligence, the contacts and the foresight to survive in King's Landing for years despite much of the council hating him and serving Kings on opposite sides of the rebellion, and now he's acting like Ned in Season 1, honourably but pointlessly falling on his sword to oppose a bad but powerful ruler, when the realm (and all the logic of his character up to this point) would have been much better served by his being much more cunning and pragmatic in his opposition to Dany, as he has been the entire series.

I am iron man. But I can't get around, I have to be a man.
I am human. But I can't get around, I have to be a woman.
I am man-and-woman. But I can't get around, I have to be man and woman.
I am a man who cannot wear a bra. But I wear a bra to tell other men to stop being so mean to me.

fuck off with that make belief army, guess the unsullied and dothraki has plot armour as well as the main characters
if she had an army this big why didn't she bring them with her when she tried to threaten Cersei into surrendering instead of having a force so tiny it was laughable
They could've at least had Rhaegal go out after heroically dropping a fiery nuke on Euron's fleet and saving Dany/Drogon and the Unsullied fleet in the process - the death was so sudden and over so quickly that it was shocking not in how sad it was as a event in the story but shocking/galling from a meta-perspective in what a pitiful send-off the writers decided to give such an important part of the show.
well if we thought there were plotholes last time...
Funsyohn linked this to me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI7zy1PTMp0 which really highlights just how many times they did the thing where the scene cuts away just before someone is clearly gonna die
I've had a week to consider this episode now and have only realised more and more just how much this ruined the show
can't wait to see what happens tonight ! ! 1 !
wtf I was expecting a gnome
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY2jAnV5Fa4 this is also a good (albeit rather nerdy) drubbing of a lot of the nonsense that happened that episode.

Mass Effect 3 - Leaving Earth
It's so good.
Old reckoner (before the update that made everyone hate it) was actually really good imo.
Given the obvious diversity of views on this subject I think it's important that this season ETF2L has a preliminary vote with a lot of options on the table before having a map cup, where frontrunners from the first poll are pitted against eachother - it was good having one last season but I think the selection of maps to test seemed rather random i.e. why didn't we test propaganda which seemed from the NA playtest cup like a solid new map? The maps played in the cup could then be voted on afterwards as a final poll for what gets put into the season.
