what are your specs? i'm assuming this cvar reduces mostly GPU load but I'm not sure how much of a positive effect this would have for my PC given that tf2 is mostly cpu intensive (I have an AMD 7870 so tf2 shouldn't be much to worry about for that card hehe)
right now im really mad cause dopewolf is such a fucking shit stain
pourquoi as-tu oublié la poutine Wintersun? réponds s'il-te-plaît

RagorismI was hoping Stultus would be the OP.
yeah instead its some faggot no one cares about
IIRC it's possible for most am3 motherboards to simply run a bios update to enable am3+ support, seeing as am3+ socket is physically the same than am3...you really need to make sure that your current motherboard is able to support am3+
If you don't want to get another motherboard as well then get one of the new Piledriver chips that AMD released a few days ago. They're around the same price than a 2500k but better for multi-threading and you won't need to switch mobos.
edit: this one specifically http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284
keep in mind that the results may not be as good as you would expect with tf2, seeing as multicore support is fairly limited on the source engine
