CS at any decent school is essentially an applied mathematics degree.
I also personally wouldn't reccommend EE, unless you find a specific subfield very interesting and you are willing (and capable) of going to graduate school. The only sub-field that I know of where you can easily go directly into industry with an undergrad degree is digital electronics, and I'd say this industry is shrinking/getting shipped out to India.
I graduated with an EE degree, did grad school in CS/CE, and I now write software.
too bad there is no equivalent of the FURIOUS MANEUVER in tf2
I was feeling sleepy, until #7 linked that soundboard

I wanted to uninstall every hour, rather than every week.
ghos7ayamasal how viable are penny stocks because my econ teacher got really mad when me and my friend won the stock market game in high school on penny stocks
only if the business is disruptive, backed by strong fundamentals (unlikely), or you have insider info

value investing books
oh wow, someone posted this; proudofu
I've literally replaced the time I spent playing TF2 to invest, and some other things. I do believe that value investing is the best method, and probably the best way to win in the long term. Here are some other books:

can't make it, cu@nextlan
thorn_#17, you provide a decent example, but you're describing people with BAD genetics, who cannot progress no matter how much they try. A much more likely scenario in school is a smart person who doesn't use his ability to his fullest potential and gets lower grades than someone who studies much more but is not necessarily as smart.
I think there are too many shades of grey to this statement. I personally believe I've witnessed the former more than the latter.
2cFREIGHT_TRAIN2cthere's never been a game with an exciting to watch ctf gamemode: all the action feels meaningless with very few caps over a long period of time. idk how tf2 used to do ctf, but most games had a timer which results in a lot of unneeded deadtime
pl and attack/defense both are capable of being tuned for 6v6 and are actually interesting/fun. would be cool to see more of them.

Matches could end (8 caps) in < 10 minutes if you were outright better than the other team.
thats true for most ctf, but most people arent interested in watching a game where a team is outright better than the other
My average game-time in logged matches was around 20 minutes. The time limit was 25 minutes/map. That means my team or the opposing team capped out in 20 minutes (8 caps for most maps).

I'll bet they'll release it on Oct. 31, 10 years since ns went 1.0.
