anyone that actually enjoys playing the game in competitive 6s format will probably support the game until it completely dies and none of us will know what will really happen until it happens, so hopefully everyone does not just abandon the game if ESEA does drop tf2

maybe cevo can figure out a way to piggyback on a lan or maybe the game will completely die or maybe a new league will pop out of thin air

there are a myriad of scenarios that can play out in the next few months, and the only way to see what will really happen is to continue supporting the scene (or stop playing)

honestly i think both clients suck ass because neither of them ever catch anyone and just acts as a deterrent while doing weird shit to our computers (both cevo/esea)

have you tried removing your hud and seeing if it's fixed

if it is, it's probably your hud (rather than your game files messing up)
if it still crashes after you remove your hud, you can probably just verify your game cache or reinstall the game (if it gets to that point) as something probably got corrupted sometime along the way

i thought the whole scandal in cevo ended up in the head of the company changing hands, which is the whole reason there was that revival process for cevo (because it was under different ownership)

i can't find anything about this on the web, but i remember reading about it on gotfrag/natf2/tf.tv (although i might be confusing it with another league from way back)

i used to play in cevo when it first started too, and the only thing i could really complain about it was the client was really shitty, but we got to use any cevo certified servers which had no problems back then

i also played in cevo in 1.6 days and i don't remember anything horrible about it, it's just that it was the main league for when i was playing in outside of cal (and i stopped playing before it crashed and burned)

a lot of newer players get discouraged from playing when they get steamrolled, especially if the other team is offclassing a ton

i think the most fun times i have had playing this game are when teams are even, even if the end result is in a loss, because it was at least a close game

at least in my eyes it's more fun to have even games, because that's what i'm paying to play for

imo neither team benefits from playing at all if it's a roll (unless it's a wake up call to practice better)
