Awesome player, willing to pick up and learn things incredibly fast. I saw him go from one duel to 4th place overnight in a (newbie) reflex tourney against players much more experienced than him. Most important quality he brings: dedication.
blazo-I outright admit to waterboarding people irl with marinara sauce
Video games have ruined my fucking life.
Don't drop the pizza next time...
glasswhen i was in college my roommate and i would play a game of fifa every 45 minutes but only if we hit our page goals
Setting goals and rewarding yourself has been the most effective thing I've seen my friends do. Some people do that "study for 45-whatever minutes out of an hour" and spend the leftover time relaxing for several hours at a time.
I would just finish a section/paper/chapter and knock out for 30 minutes, rinse and repeat.
Hellbentalso just general motivation: have a think about ur life and why u r pursing this education (i think a lot of ppl just get pushed into college by their parents); hang around with the achievers in ur class because their discipline will rub off
This works wonders, as you progressively build up a picture of what you're trying to do over time. Nothing's worse than spending 2-3 years only to realize that you want to switch majors or not even continue college at that point. People motivated WILL make ends meet, regardless of their initial capabilities.
That sort of leads into another point, you might want to figure out how to schedule simple tasks for each day, ideally in the morning, such as "one section in this paper, two chapters in bio", etc. That way each day you can set/meet goals, and each night you can figure out where you are and how much left you have to do. You don't have to have a minute-by-minute checklist to live by, but it definitely helps to have daily goals so that you can live through the long processes involved with upper-level education. Just remember that it's a marathon: each small change helps.
As Jaguarfiend always says, that's just how the fuck it is!
Also just doing things with friends is pretty neat.
Mental fortitude and a positive attitude are two essential ingredients when trying to do anything, and if playing less means you gain that, then find other things to do. People with glass jaws don't last long. It sounds like you're only hitting n-hour milestones in playing games so that's pretty normal (to varying magnitudes).
I stopped several times over the course of a few years to just play other games with friends, try (and fail) at defrag, etc. I ended up having fun, and in the end you keep those vibes going for a long while.
great person to be around and a fast learner, my only regret is that he didn't stick around long enough to become even more powerful than he already is, but that can happen next season :)

pablo is literally the best human i've come across he joined our team and my cat's eye disease miraculously got cured... I got a 5k payraise and we immediately doubled our wins (from 1 to 2)
I'm happy that I can now say our best player is our pocket on sniper
