#17 qnx replaces feeling on dd+5friends in News
methodiculLove how I get -18 frags then Hildreth comes through and agrees and gets normal frags. Anyway, mid way through granary and DD+5F are in position for 5 points off infs. Feeling vindicated unless DD+5F really throw the rest of this granary game at 1-0.

Don't worry about -frags if you're right. Just proves you're smarter :D
Such a good win for them they may even sneak playoffs if they put the same performance in again.

DavidTheWinmethodiculSurprised that many commentators count dd+5 out all the time considering they seem to be playing well in scrims with reasonable results vs publiclir and good games vs plexpress from the logs I've seen. Hope this works out, always rated qnx highly

I kind of agree with method here, they got every chance to take maps off of some of the other Premiership sides. They won't be gracing playoffs but survival is a possibility, need some points though quickly because if they get 6-0'd again it will be really hard to avoid finishing in the bottom 2.

#63 Raptor cut from Planet Express in News

As someone who has gamed with Sheepy and Zoob a lot, I can tell you that playing with Zoob isn't easy, he is prone to whine a lot at mistakes of others. It's easy to get into a defensive mindset playing with Zoob, because players are making mistakes and he tends to get frustrated at the mistakes of others, that can stop players from getting better. Kissakala was actually a really promising player, in one of his first Premiership games he played Epsilon and we almost beat them, but over the next 2 seasons he was kind of worn down by whining and raging at mistakes (not just by Zoob, but also by me). It takes a certain type of personality to play Medic for Zoob, I think an actually established player with a lot of confidence in himself would work better.

Other thing Planet Express may be missing is characters, really vocal players with leadership skills. This is really important to teams in my eyes as these sorts of players can motivate a team to win video games. When I look at Planet Express team, they lack strong leaders. Zoob is an excellent caller but he isn't really the sort of person who will motivate teammates when you fall behind. I think someone like Turbomonkey could also be a good fit, whilst he isn't experienced he is the sort of character who makes the game fun and can motivate his team. The pcw I saw yesterday between Nerdrage and PE, I saw them get 5-0'd and all I saw was 6 individuals, nobody taking responsibility for flanks, slow to push, all over the place when pushing. Felt like they were forgetting simple things, you could tell the atmosphere was not pleasant. So much indecision in their team, they just seem to be lacking some basic teamwork. I hope their new Medic can go some way to fixing this, had high hopes for this team at the start of the season.

#46 Kotaku article on TF2 mm in TF2 General Discussion

It's a good read but it's treading the same ground as before, but I think Sideshow makes a great point:

SideshowI don’t think most competitive players have wrapped their heads around this, but [competitive matchmaking] definitely means compromising what we consider the competitive integrity of 6v6,”

The competitive format has to change if you want this game to appeal to the masses. This is an unpopular reality you will have to accept. Personally I am happy to sit here and play it out in ETF2L.

Geel9I think it's a bit silly to call yourself the "home of competitive TF2" and then constantly and consistently shit on a major area of competitive TF2 in a rude and derogatory way.

Well this is my only problem with the website.

I totally understand why TF.TV are doing this, their staff see this website as the major place to go for top competitive news, so they want to exclude content about anything below top divisions in each continent. They have also excluded Highlander as a competitive format - They want to make Matchmaking happen with the 6v6 format as it is logistically easiest to do due to numbers. That is a totally different discussion, one of which I have many opinions on and I disagree with the TF.TV staff on but I understand their motivation, it is another discussion in my view.

I don't have any problems with TF.TV taking this approach, focusing on top level 6's and LAN coverage rather than every level + Highlander coverage. There are plenty of reasons why TeamFortress.TV the casting organisation wouldn't want to endorse certain aspects of EVL/UGC (I don't know much of EVL, but I can first hand attest that the management of UGC is sub-par) and I am sorry to say BlackOut lags behind the quality of TF.TV, though to be fair to Jon he does it all pretty much by himself whilst TF.TV have a large staff.

All this stems from is Jon wanting to publish an article to promote his casting organisation and being censored, you can't call yourself the home of competitive TF2 when you do this.

And by the way, EU Highlander is thriving in activity, we got our own community, had our own LAN, ETF2L has more dedicated Highlander admins than ever before. TF.TV doesn't want us here, that is fine, we have ETF2L. I don't have any hate for 6v6, I love the gamemode but sadly many, many gamers in this community do not share the same love.

BulowIs there somewhere that those reasonsing are rehashed? Seems stupid to me given that I thought that this site was supposed to be a portal into all things competitive TF2.

See that is what irks me Mr B, I fully accept TF.TV's reasoning behind it, but it's time to admit you're not the hub for competitive TF2, seems as if the org doesn't even recognize Highlander as a competitive format, daft considering numbers the format brings into the competitive scene and the crossover of players between formats.

What is TF.TV now?
