#126 Pre-season highlander gossip in TF2 General Discussion
infinite-
Hildreth, you are obviously still upset over being ignored in the past but you have no clue who's done majority of the work to make ugc highlander popular in the past. Best to keep quiet on things you know little about.

You never heard of JimmyBreeze, RaCiO or Ashkan have you? Without ETF2L your league would never be popular, fuck you'd still probably be trying to popularise 8v8. You're a tool stuck in a vortex of your own self-inflated ego, grow up.

Highlander Gossip - We'll probably see the usual influx as has been the pattern in UGC of mid/high level 6's players coming into Platinum, current decent HL players sticking around, joining new teams and the occaisional new undiscovered star pop up and make it big, shoutout to Dave+, nobody knew him until this season. I can't see any team able to compete with mTs though, not unless -ts- reform with a mix of Bonus and some other talents from elsewhere.

European gossip - SNSD look set to retain their title undefeated again, they have hinted in the past interest in another cross-atlantic showmatch with UGC champions but I fear without the mostly west coast team of The Syndicate, the game would be too dependant on ping difference, but they wanted to show what they can do after a season of playing regulary.

"Yep, and UGC continues to prosper :)"

infinite I have literally no idea who you are. That being said you come across as a complete joke. You attack and defend instead of mediate. You go out of your way to press peoples buttons.

We are at an amazing point in TF2 right now. Simply amazing. But for some reason you rather be on "edge" about your league and any criticism that might comes towards it.

Do you possess the ability to let things go and bury the hatchet? We could use your help in 6v6 and just the same back to you. We have some amazing people who make this community all that it is.

I just don't get it man. Can you please just end the defensive attitude and can we move forward as a community?

He's been like this since UGC became popular, may I add after ETF2L hosted a 900 team tournament. Posting feedback on UGC forum is like asking your boss for 6 months off work, a pay-rise and sex with his wife, at least that is the experience I and many others have had from Infinite.

It surprises me really, every other UGC admin over the course of the 2 years HL has become popular (thanks to the hard work and dedication of many community admins/members from both Europe and North America, not you Infinite) has come accross to me as a well adjusted, likeable person but Infinite remains in his own little world.

So don't try, just ignore and don't judge youe experience of Highlander and UGC admins based off one bad-tempered kid who doesn't want to play along.

I feel like I'm in a privileged position here because I've been around long enough to remember when djedi was a respectable team at some level, and that I played with teams that actually did STA/TWL/UGC and formats outside of 6s. RE:infinite, you have to understand that this is a guy that since the inception of the game had been battling to make anything that wasn't 6s the main format for the game. We are talking hundreds of hours of play and years of time being devoted to playing this game in any format that wasn't 6s, whilst being ignored by the competitive community as a whole as it evidently is. Despite being carried by slingshot, djedi failed to even remain a threat in non-standard play as 6s players would make fuck around teams and beat them despite years of agonizing loyalty to the format.

So you see after years of basically being a poorly written anime-fan-fiction villain, infinite completes his story by becoming a UGC admin who acts like a massive faggot to any 6s player as his squealing autistic revenge for never recognizing him/his team as decent. Leveling or compromising with this guy is impossible because this is a guy who's ultimate pleasure is going to come from being the most minor of inconveniences to anyone that ever set foot in a 6s pug.

The levels of autism displayed by infinite eclipse even haTTrick, sye, and carrots in their respective primes because of one simple fact, this cat is so crazy he took 8s seriously

That explains a lot, thanks.

hookyIs it weird that I want to try to convince my clan to move its HL team to ETF2L after reading infinite's posts?

I wouldn't advise it, because we cater mainly to Europeans and although we try to group North Americans in the same divisions, our priority is to Europeans. We don't run an American sub-division, a couple of our admins are part of UGC and we enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship with their league, going to the point we try to mirror unlocks and rules as much as we see reasonably acceptable.

#160 Invite Player Rule lifting- made any difference? in TF2 General Discussion

Will I get minus fragged for actually praising infinite for the work he put into the league so far? Probably but he has done a lot, a fuck lot for UGC HL to keep the league running, something most people here won't grasp - the effort of sacrificing hundreds of hours of your time for something. When someone pisses on your work like Platinum, it is natural for them to become annoyed and react aggressively - see my comment above about alfa, someone I have never ever spoken to ever apart from brief Pug2 games and I barely remember him yet he seems to know me well enough to compare me to someone like Infinite, that is like comparing any politician to Hitler in the admin business. What the fuck have you ever done to help this community? Do something useful then call me out for being retarded.

Then again this is Infinite we're talking about, a man who thinks UGC's superior numbers is down to ESEA unlock bans. I think people need to chill out and take the game less seriously, if you like Highlander more than 6v6 good for you and vice versa, least you're not playing CS:GO.

#14 How many hours a day should I practice? in Q/A Help

Don't over practise, a couple of hours a day is enough, as Platinum said doing it in 30-40 minute periods is best do you get a mental break.

Depending on the type of person you are also doing too much practise won't achieve as much as making sure you have eaten/slept/relaxed enough before you play. I once practised about 6 hours a day, sure it helped but when it came to matches and practise games it didn't make too much a difference because I had played so much TF2 I was mentally exhausted and playing far off my best. Find a good balance and stick to it, even on your off days.

#7 Job interview - Help in Off Topic
imphasingDrakeMegrimAlso, never ever wear jeans to any interview.
business casual is so 1980s, join us in 2012 it's comfortable

Depends where you work.
My argument is always to never wear jeans. They may be a laid back employer and probably be casual but still what if they're not, there is no harm in wearing Black trousers, there is a possibility of them getting the wrong impression if you wear jeans.

Selling your best qualities gets you the job, know what they want and give it to them but don't sound like you just got it off their job description. Always prepare for every possible question. Every skill you list always have a scenerio or two in your head where you can sell it to them. Definitely look at their website, find out things about them and ask good questions such as potential projects you might be working on etc etc.

Relax, firm handshake, be confident and SMILE. And for the love of god come 10-20 minutes early.

#4 ATTN Plat HL teams: STV DEMOS in TF2 General Discussion
m4risadoes this mean we can keep all our matches on monday

On Monday at the default time I bet 90% of matches are played. The 200-250 or so North American teams that play Highlander (that is over 2000 players) can't tune into the cast because they're playing, if even 10% of those people tune into watch the game eXtv would double their viewer count on the night. However I am willing to bet more would be interested in watching the top teams play and if we can arrange games outside default dates/times you would be increasing the exposure of the game.

So if mTs play Bonus or -ts- play Gorgeous Gamers or whoever, make an effort to schedule it on Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday

#125 wrangler in highlander in TF2 General Discussion
infinite-Hildreth: I could easily go back over the past two years and quote numerous rude and arrogant posts you've made on our forums and your own leagues' forums but theres really no point. What you call arrogance is me conveying my PERSONAL opinion about how competitive TF2 has evolved over time. If you want to get your feelings hurt and blow things out of proportion, and say my opinions are somehow related to UGC's official policy thats your deal. We've got 19 admins who all have different opinions on how things should be run and ask any one of them, all their voices are heard on things like weapon bans, maps, cheaters, etc.

My opinion, no matter how unpopular, of how competitive TF2 has evolved over time directly relates to the wrangler ban because it is just one example of the numerous game content bans (weapons, items, classes) exhibited in 6v6 which I PERSONALLY believe has limited it's potential. While people are crying foul and telling me I make the league look bad for expressing my opinions they still ignore my simple questions. Why are things the way they are? Why does the majority of TF2 players feel 6v6 is unapproachable? Why has there been a huge decline in ESEA 6v6 teams?

As someone mentioned before, our 6v6 league has accepted ESEA's ban list even though it was my PERSONAL opinion not to copy everything ESEA does. The majority of our 6s admins wanted to do it and it was done. I believe inter-league consistency is a good thing though UGC still has to maintain it's individuality. Thus, to imply UGC is some dictatorship is so completely false it makes me laugh and realize haters are going to hate no matter what is done.

I think you have proven my post 100% right, thank you for responding to my expections.

Also I challenge you to find a post on ETF2L forums from the time I was an admin where I was "rude or arrogant" to a member of the community. I act with a manner of respect towards my community members, do you know what I do as a career? It is customer service focused and I take that into being an admin, you however are one of the most confrontational admins I have ever seen. You make emb seem like a pussycat.

As for UGC forums, I was only following the great example set by UGC admins, specifically you and hein. It goes two ways you know, you encouraged people to not treat eachother with respect.

#97 wrangler in highlander in TF2 General Discussion

When you open up

infinite-Hildreth, I don't think your in the position of calling anyone arrogant.

There are different types of arrogance, there is arrogance at your own perceived greatness at playing video games and there is arrogance at your own perceived intelligence making you totally ignore other people's logical arguments and alienate the majority of your community with your condescending, patronizing and direspectful attitudes.

And this thread was aimed at the Wrangler unlock, an item the league I administrate allows and if you read what I said about it when I made an argument, I agreed with you Infinite about why the Wrangler shouldn't be banned but I didn't do it in a manner that antagonized people by being unreasonably defensive and shifting the discussion towards 6v6 unlock bans - which you always do I should add, you shift arguments made by someone into a totally different area of discussion in a way that affects their sensibilities. I remember I critisized the UGC unlock rule on the UGC forum and you turned it on an oppurtunity to criticize the ETF2L map pool which was at the time totally irrelevant, rather than make a contructive argument.

You should cease posting here and focus on your own website, I can't think of an admin in all of TF2 who has made their league seem as small minded, uninformed and poorly run as you have. I don't even think UGC is poorly run, but you give off the impression you have no idea what the fuck is going on in this game beyond your own small little world.

Thanks.
