so i just recently saw this new solution on the SPUF thread to fix the crashes and so far it's fixed the problem for me
you put mat_dxlevel 80 in your autoexec and -dxlevel 90 in your launch options

doesn't affect everyone that uses dx8 but a lot of people that do use it have crashing problems. the crashing occurs when someone connects to the server you're in and if you're connected to the item server.
if you reopen tf2 right after your crash sometimes you won't be connected to the item server so you can play without your loadout and you won't crash. that's the only temporary fix i've found until valve fixes it.

MJI used to get crashes, and for some reason deleting my cfg folder fixed crashing in dx8. I had to delete it like before every server, and it just stopped crashing. I can be the first one to join a server with dx8 fine and I don't get crashes anymore and put my old cfg back.
deleted my cfg folder, still crashing :(

Getting better at sniping

as a top sniper in highlander i mainly just pub sniper a lot and i mostly play payload or koth. pubbing imo is basically the exact same as highlander since you're facing all the same classes.
i don't snipe in mge or dm since i don't really find it that helpful.
being good at sniper is really useful for 6v6 aswell for when you need to push or defend last on certain maps
